The contract, which has four option years is for UP TO $19,000,000. Knowing past purchasing history by the Feds that might end up getting them 1,000rds.

To me it seems a waste of money to pay for a training round that is Designed around a match grade bullet. I could see it for some kind of sniper training but how accurate do you need 9x19 ammo. I'm talking about accuracy beyond what you get from standard ammo which I find to be pretty good.

Wonder if this specialized ammo is going to be fired in standard service firearms? If they need more accuracy it might make more sense to smith the guns a bit rather than design a new cartridge.

To maximize accuracy? Who where can match the results they publish for your favorite pistol shot in a ransom rest when you are shooting offhand? Most modern service pistols seem to shoot 3.5 inch at 25 yards or better, no one shoots that well off hand save for a few bullseye shooters.

If accuracy was your concern your better off spending money on training.

Doesnt federal have that training/working cartrige match up where the fmj training bullets shoot, feel and hit in the same place as the hollow point ones? Or is that another company?

$19,000,000/$20 per box of 50 is 950,000 boxes. That's quite a lot... and if they're paying more than $20 per box at those volumes, we need to hire a new purchasing director for the FBI.

And I agree on the match ammo thing - WTF? Put the money into their duty ammo and use regular fmj for practice. What the hell is wrong with our government? We're in debt up to our eyeballs and they're still spending like drunken trophy wives.
