    I was going to try taking a standard length gas tube and bending it around the bll however many turns would get it to fit a shorty and see if that slowed the charge enough to let the case collapse back from the chamber wall before extraction, Conversely you could just run the tube back and forth above the bll wich would be much more practical as then the gas tube could be replaced without removing the front sight, if any. A mid length bbl has to be better than a commando/m4, but recall the original design placed the port where it needed to be for the planets to align, a shorty is a terrible design in that respect.
