Nah, "rolling thunder". Tanks and artillery moving from the DMZ northwards, cruise missiles (non-nukes) hitting strategic targets further into NK, high altitude bombers "carpet bombing" other targets, all so that there is no brick on top of another brick. "Scorched earth" to either bury them under the rubble or to force them to flee to their "friends" (if they have any).

Not knowing what is going on behind the scenes, on the face of it Pres. Trump may be making a bad diplomatic move. I'd think China put a lot of pressure on N. Korea to do what it is doing. They also had to make some pretty stiff promises to N. Korea also, I would imagine. For N.Korea to agree to sit down with the U. S., and discuss anything would be a big concession for them to China.
To have Pres. Trump call it off would be a big insult to China, and thus to N. Korea. Over there, it's all about prestige and saving face. For China to obviously worked behind the scenes to get what the U.S. has been asking for, and then Trump just says no, and walk away would be a major blunde, especially after already agreeing to meet with the N. Koreans.
I think China is quite ready to get nukes and war mongering out of N. Korea so that the U.S. will not keep such a large naval presence in that area, and make it easier for them to expand their artificial islandss, and thus their territorial claims.
If we go to war with N. Korea, you know we will have to fight China also. If we get N. Koea to get rid of Nukes, then S. Korea would more than be able to defeat the N. Koreans. Any war between them could be called an "internal" matter and give the US and China and excuse to not put troops into combat.
Not having the 2 halves of Korea ready for instant war, would allow us to put more resources in the way to block China's expansion plans.
No enemy of America would have ever been killed if they didn't show up to be killed. HDR

I'm betting that China and Kim just expected Trump to fold and offer all sorts of money in order to keep the summit on track. I bet China and Kim are both sitting there wondering what happened, how did the summit get cancelled, this is not what Americans have done in the past. We will see what happens but Trump has been firm about one thing through this whole process. If the deal was not good he would walk away. The deal was not shaping up to be good, so he walked away.

So it looks like NK wants this meeting more than we do. Might be back on for the 12th.
