My uncle, dad's identical twin, who served at Aberdeen Proving Grounds during WWII. After the war was over, he continued working there, until retirement, as a chemist.
My two uncles, my Mom's younger brothers, one served in the Marine Corps. during Korea, and the other served in the Navy at the same time.
The uncle who, after serving in the Navy, went on to serve on one of the Navy vessels that laid microphones on the North Atlantic Ocean floor (to monitor any traffic coming our way in, or on, the sea) and when the USS Thresher went down, his was the closest ship and located the debris on the ocean floor. The Thresher imploded on its last deep-dive test.
