They sold them off in the past but probably won't now days. According to the article there are only 27-150 officers still carrying revolvers. They might have a few in reserve but I'd bet if something happened to their revolver they'd have to switch to an auto so what we're really talking about is maybe 100 guns give or take.
The rest of the nearly 40,000 members of the force switched back in 1993. We're only talking about .003% of the force still carrying a revolver.
