Yep, if Jeff Flake flakes out, McConnell could have a rough time rounding up enough R votes for confirmation.
The GOP only has a 51-49 lead in the Senate right now... 50-49 if McCain stays home and refuses to allow a conservative replacement.
All it would take is one R defection and the deal is off. Because there's going to be incredible pressure on even those few "red state Dems" not to cave this time around like they did with Gorsuch.
