As usualy LAGC is a moron who spouts the Democrat party line. Clinton was LEGITIMATELY being investigated for sexual harassment of MULTIPLE WOMEN. In this age of #metoo that should resonate with Liberals (if they were honest but they're not). It wasn't a witch hunt. In the course of the investigation of the Paula Jones sexual harassment claim (which is a crime BTW to all dumb libtards who happen to visit this forum), Clinton DID commit perjury when UNDER OATH he denied having sexual relations with 'that woman' aka Monica Lewinskey (at the time, a potential witness and side player to the drama when her semen soaked dress was offered up as evidence). Perjury IS A CRIME that people have served up to 8 yrs in PRISON FOR!!!! But the liberal media and the DEMOCRATS have mischaracterized this event as a 'witch hunt' unfairly for YEARS and frankly I'm sick of their lies.

That is not quite true. Starr was appointed as a Special Prosecutor to investigate the death of Vince Foster and the Whitewater land scheme but that led to Ms. Lewinsky for which Clinton was impeached and disbarred for perjury. Conservatives, not all but a good number, did not want a Special Prosecutor appointed because of what happened then and now. Their mandates are too broad and they are allowed to go from investigating a crime (in Trump's case though there was not even a crime to investigate) to investigating the person to find a crime. While Starr's investigation started out as an investigation it turned into a witch hunt. Mueller's investigation has been a witch hunt from the start.

Perhaps, after this whole sordid affair is over with, Congress will greatly scale back the scope and mandate of the Special Counsel's office, when it comes to carte blanche investigative powers into the dealings of future presidents.

Even if the Republicans lose control of the House in November, they'll still have a couple months left during the "lame duck" session to possibly ram through some last minute legislation.

I should add that President Clinton should have been investigated for what Paula Jones and others accused him of, but that was not the original intent and focus of the Special Prosecutor.

Because we know that the Democrats will not do it. Unfortunately, I don't think the Republicans will either. Both sides have seen what an effective tool this is in distracting the President and Congress from getting anything useful done (in the case of Democrats this means increasing taxes, violating our rights, etc, in the case of Republicans in includes decreasing taxes (notice that I didn't say spending for either one) and regulatory burdens placed on us by Congress and the various government organizations like the Depart of Ecology, Dept of Education, etc.).

The only thing sordid about this affair is the strategy used by Comey to get a Special Counsel appointed, the one sided reporting by the MSM, the pass that Clinton and the DNC has gotten in their various legally and morally questionable actions during the elections (which is almost a restating of point 2), and that this investigation is still going on. As soon as it became known that Comey had orchestrated the appointment of the Special Counsel (which I am sure was known by the DOJ and Congress well before Comey's book was released) the investigation should have been stopped and turned back over to the DOJ.
