It's That Time Again...Get Ready.....

Looks like we might have the makings of a hurricane headed our way. Florence is heading due west right now and the High Pressure areas, to the north of her, will keep her from turning too far northward, then the Cold Front that's moving off the East Coast of the US will continue to push her westward right into us. Not sure where, if, or when she'll make landfall, but it looks like the weather patterns want to keep her headed westward.

For those of us on the east coast, we might want to do a little prepping and beat the rush IF she does make landfall.



Don't forget that there are two more Low Pressure areas just behind her that look promising for forming into hurricanes AND these are forming lower than Florence, so they may follow normal paths and strike lower in the US than Florence might.



If you're on the east coast, you might want to keep an eye out for what's happening....

It appears that Florence is going to approach the East Coast sometime late next week. Looks like she's heading towards NC/VA shorelines.

Of course, this could change.....

I won't be affected very much, but SE PA has been hammered with rain this year, places that I never would have thought would get flooded got wrecked.

Florence is now expected to hit somewhere near Charleston, SC (swinging lower than first predicted) with the storm surge arriving on the 13th. Landfall is expected to be on the 13th or 14th of this month.

IF she does make landfall on the 13th she will arrive during the time of high tide, which will increase the flooding and damage of areas further inland.

Heard on Weather Channel, today, that after Florence makes landfall, she's going to stall out and dump up to 40" of rainfall inland. Even on flat land, that's a hell of a lot of water. In hilly areas, that water is going to cause major problems with streams and rivers overflowing and washing downhill.

Are any of you all near Ladson? My Brother Lives there, near Goose Creek. He told me on Monday Night he is about 40 Miles inland from Charleston. I hope he is right. Plus he said he has a large Generator. He is not too worried as long as things did not change. Paul

Local TV weather (St. Louis) is saying that Florence MAY regain Cat. 3 status before it makes landfall. PLUS, they are now forecasting it to take a hard left after landfall and veer SW into South Carolina and possibly northern Georgia.
