Post Paul Manafort Found Guilty at Trial

The decision Tuesday by a federal court jury to find former Trump presidential campaign chairman Paul Manafort guilty on eight counts of tax evasion and bank fraud opens the door to a new act in the drama surrounding Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Jurors could not agree on a unanimous verdict on 10 other charges against Manafort and a mistrial was declared on those charges.

Mueller’s aggressive pursuit and prosecution of Manafort is a clear indication that the special counsel believes Manafort holds answers to key questions about two subjects: Russian election meddling, and whether Donald Trump or anyone on his campaign team broke any laws by conspiring with Russians to work together to make Trump president.

Manafort, 68, could spend the rest of his life in prison if his convictions are upheld on appeal. That gives Mueller leverage to pressure Manafort to cooperate and present potentially incriminating evidence against President Trump or his campaign, in return for a lighter sentence.

Hmm... I wonder if Manafort is going to flip and start cooperating with Mueller now to save his own skin?

Or perhaps he'll hold firm in hopes that Trump will pardon him when all is said and done?

They fbi him to fabricate things on Trump so they don't have to, I imagine Trump will pardon him but I doubt a pardon is in store for Cohen.

    also;
Remember When Obama Campaign Was Fined $375,000 for Campaign Reporting Violations AND NO JAIL TIME?
Michael Cohen admitted he violated campaign finance laws in relation to the Stormy Daniels payment at direction of a ‘candidate.’ He paid off the porn star over $100,000 in a hush money agreement which she later violated.

At least Manafort took his chances with a trial. Trump's ex-lawyer (Cohen) didn't even do that - he caved and plead guilty w/o going to trial.

It seems obvious to me that the exact wording of Cohen's statement was a negotiated part of his plea.

For the porn star stuff, good for him. I could care less if he raw dogged them both up the pooper and it was broadcast live on the jumbotron in times square, it would still be better than having democrats in office

They used Pedosta to implicate Manaforte in crimes while ginving pedosta immunity for the same crimes, they were biz partners in a company hired by foreigners to influence US policies and politicians. Killary needs the pedosta boys to be given immunity because they have all the dirt on killary.

    MANAFORT HAS FLIPPED!!

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department, including in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Manafort pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy against the US and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice due to attempts to tamper with witnesses, according to a court filing Friday.

Prosecutor Andrew Weissmann told the judge Manafort's plea agreement is a "cooperation agreement," and other charges will be dropped at sentencing at "or at the agreement of successful cooperation."

Mueller is keeping everything under wraps until the big reveal.

But it sounds like this thing is going to drag on until after the midterms, so at least there should be no October surprise.

Agreeing to cooperate isn't the same thing as "flipping." When he agreed to cooperate, his cooperating just means he will answer the questions honestly. If he has nothing to say about Trump, then he's still "cooperating" by answering honestly.

If there's no "collusion" he can verify, then Mueller just wasted his move....and Manafort made out like a champ.

You're jumping to conclusions based on your wet dreams about getting Trump.

The Controlled Media is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

    Nothing will come of this.

    p.s. - Collusion isn't a crime, anyway.

    I don't know, my friend.

I've seen how federal prosecutors work. They don't generally proffer to make generous deals allowing you to avoid prison unless you have some VERY valuable information to share with them.

    Information leading to bigger fish...

He's "keeping everything under wraps" because he has nothing to show. His big report is going to be nothing more than a bunch of "uh's" and "aaahhhhh's," with NO substance.

His big report is going to be nothing more than a big letdown for all Liberals.

Then, they will go well beyond insanity.

If that were the case, I don't think Trump would be tweeting like mad against Mueller, as he has been for the past several months.

What is Trump afraid of if he has nothing to hide? If it's just going to be one big "nothingburger" why does Trump keep making such a big deal about it?

How about, this farce of an investigation has been going on long enough and needs to be ended, either with a charge or without?

Besides being a major waste of taxpayer money, it's making the government less efficient than it could be.

I'd be pissed, too, if I were in Trump's shoes.

Enough is enough. And this is far too much.

I agree. Mueller should either shit or get off the pot.

All this drama and suspense has gone on for long enough...

I was trying to convey that even when they hit the uttermost highest level of insanity, they ALWAYS find even higher levels to reach.

    They haven't slowed down yet.....
