    "Green New Deal"

OK... just heard a mention of this today. Does anyone know WTF a "green new deal" is?

I tried to read the text of the "resolution" and it seemed like an LSD induced dream.

    What is this?

    (G) working collaboratively with farmers and ranchers in the United States to remove pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector as much as is technologically feasible, including—
    (i) by supporting family farming;
(ii) by investing in sustainable farming and land use practices that increase soil health; and
    (iii) by building a more sustainable food system that ensures universal access to healthy food;
Sounds like a Soviet type collective farm. Is this really being considered in the USA?

The text, as a whole, sounds like a blueprint for socialism. WTF???

And, is this a bill, a proposal, a law? I am completely confused.

    Any explanation will be appreciated.

It's a bill introduced by Cortez. And, it is socialism/communism inspired.

Not only that, but the bill wants to ban all commercial air flights in the next 10 years and implement a high speed rail system, connecting city to city, to take the place of commercial air services.

Needless to say, none of this will work....yet, Cortez, and all the other newly elected Communist Congressmen, firmly believe this is the best way.

I'm living in a house that will be 100 years old this Nov
It was built by my grandfather
He was born about a half mile away in a grass sod hut that his father made when he first settled in the area
It seems to me we've already been doing what they are proposing along with others around here
Only difference I'm seeing is putting it under gov't control or like you say "Soviet type collective farm"
They are trying to jam the wind farms down our throat right now thanks to Indiana jumping on board along with the utility company
Divisions are growing stronger around here

It is about as stupid as they come. Part of the "deal" is banning aircraft travel. They want high speed rail travel instead and don't seem to understand how trains get their power. They also don't understand how hard it would be (read impossible) to build a rail to Europe that could handle the number of passengers per hour that an aircraft can provide. Or Hawaii, or Japan...

Add to the farm debacle would be the phasing out of cows because of their excess emissions. This is per that economic genius who is complaining about "cow farts" and yes she said it.

And the idea of replacing every building with a more modern one? I don't think the word moron would even fit.

The time verified soviet model. Verified time and again that it doesn't work save for the elites at the top who live slave owners over the proletariat ie useful idiots.

The green new deal is the greatest gift the democrats have ever given the republican party.

The Repubs won't make use of it. They've been given opportunities, over and over, by the Dims and they never capitalized on any of them. Why would they start now?

As far as Animal Emissions goes New Jersey proposed a tax on dairy farms back around 2009. Because of methane produced from cow FARTS and feces.

Here's a better idea being used about 2 1/2 miles from my farm
Well maybe not for the taxman

Some of the biogas, which is 60% methane, is used to power the farm, including the digesters.
The rest of the biogas is “cleaned” by this system to 99% methane, which is the renewable natural gas that runs the farm’s fleet of trucks.
Fair Oaks’ trucks fill up at the farm’s compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station. The fleet of 42 trucks all run on the farm’s CNG and travel 24/7 to tally an average of 270,000 miles a year

This^ Even when they have total control they do nothing. Fed up with the lot of them minus a precious few.

Obviously They have NO CLUE how many people use the airlines. And, who is supposed to pay for "implementing" the new rail system? Oh right, socialists never think about that.

Exactly! These green weenies want electric cars, but where does the electricity come from?

Also, you can go to the gas station and in 5 minute pour enough energy into the gas tank to go some 250 to 300 miles. Can an electric car battery last for 300 miles and be recharged in 5 minutes?

These socialists want to replace existing tech but have no clue how it works.

As far as "cow farts" go, haven't cows been farting well before mankind emitted the first industrial molecules of CO2?

What caused previous ice ages and warm climate periods? Well before mankind even existed?

Lastly, those clowns can gripe all they want about "globull warming"... show me the scientific data that says so.

Sure, our climate IS slowly warming due to a natural cycle, but there is absolutely no correlation between a graph of average global temperatures and a graph of industrial CO2 production over the decades.

    It's all pure bull!

How do you "phase out" cows? Unless cows are destroyed to extinction, they will continue to shit and fart. So will every other animal on the planet.

I think democrats should be taxed for all the hot air they produce. Ya know, globull warming and all......

Well if it ever goes into effect I foresee the Mayor of New York trying to tax beer FARTS. Kinda like the tax on Large soft drinks.

"Farts" is way more fun to say, but on the Glenn Beck show, he had someone talk who was the head of some scientific dairy organization and she said cows emit more methane through burps than farts. So, the libs are focusing on the wrong end of the cow.

I guess most of them are naturally drawn to the anus, rather than the mouth....I guess they feel more at home on the shitty side of the cow...

You can't convince these morons that climate change, whether affected by man or not is a normal cycle of this earth. I was told that it wasn't too long ago that my house would have been under a sheet of ice 5000 feet thick!!! Obviously that ice has retreated back north and is still retreating. NORMAL. As for melting ice causing the oceans to rise, fill a large glass with ice, then add water until it is full to the top. Let the ice melt and guess what, the water level will have gone down!!! Water expands when it freezes.

Guess the scientists don't want the truth to be known.

They use the excuse that CO2 is going up in a higher rate than "normal" but what is normal on a planet that is over one billion years old!

For sure the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased due to industrial activity.

But, if you take a graph of CO2 levels and lay it on top of global temperatures, you should see a correlation (even if it's delayed by a decade or so).

This doesn't happen, however. The CO2 graph shoots up, but global temperatures continue on their slow, leisurely sinusoidal pattern as they have for several hundred years.

From the study linked above, THIS graph says it all (notice that the temperature plot slope DOES NOT CHANGE after industrial CO2 emissions rise, thereby proving that "manmade climate change" is a bullshit hoax.
