    what these slotted nuts for?

Haven't posted for awhile but I read up. Never saw this set up before. What are they for? A side scope? On the left side of receiver.

The nuts on either side along with the special axis pins were part of the B-square scope mount assembly.

Thanks for that info. I'm far from an expert like most of you guys but even at 71 I like to learn.

The nuts are on both sides and are on the hammer and trigger pins.
My guess is that it's somebody's version of anti walk pins so they don't have to use the "complicated" shepards hook that holds the pins from drifting, falling out.

B-square scope mount. Mount goes over those pins and nut and is held in place with a second nut on the outside of the mount that threads over the threads in the center of the slotted nut. Strange set up but it works to hold a scope in place. Unfortunately the right hand side is designed that if you are not careful it will slice up your hand nicely as you cycle the bolt handle.
