    North Korea

North Korea reportedly says it must deliver a ‘serious blow’ to those imposing sanctions
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his country needs to deliver a “serious blow” to those imposing sanctions by ensuring its economy is more self-reliant, state media Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Thursday.
It was the first time Kim stated North Korea’s position on the second U.S.-North Korea summit in Hanoi that collapsed in February.
State media have published images and reports of Kim’s visits to at least four economic projects in five days over the past week, including a remodelled department store, tourist resorts, and an economic hub near the border with China.

Daunting salvage task awaits Japanese F-35 investigators baffled by crash
TOKYO (Reuters) - Two days after one of Japan’s F-35 stealth fighters plunged into the Pacific and no closer to finding out why it happened, investigators face a daunting task to recover what remains of the highly classified jet from the ocean depths.
Air Self Defense Force (ASDF) investigators have found small sections of the F-35’s wing floating in the sea which suggests the advanced aircraft hit the water, but not why it disappeared from radar screens without warning.

“We have not recovered anything that would point to a cause,” an air force official told Reuters as the search continues for the missing pilot.

The remaining wreckage of the $126 million fighter lies at a depth of around 1,500 meters (4922 ft), including the flight data recorder which would shed light on what happened off the coast of northern Japan on Wednesday evening.

    surely pure coincidence
"And how we burned in the camps later thinking, what would things have been like, if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain, whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?"

This situation could be as "explosive" as the current state of affairs between India and Pakistan.Reminds me of the end of the '80's movie "WarGames" when that computer was running all those different scenarios and came up with "no winner".

If it was actually something intentional as in NK taking down the jet, I suppose China or Russia gave them the device and said hey try this out next time you see a f35 is up and let us know how it goes.

Hard to imagine NK shooting down an f35. It could happen, but it sure seems unlikely.

Or it’s just a piece shit aircraft that was politically shoved through.

A 9 figure fighter that has been
-bested multiple times by f-16’s with the f-16 covered in external fuel tanks and bomb racks
-shuts down if it’s kept in the sun or is given warm fuel because the computer over heats
    -a single engine naval aircraft
