    After today, it's all historical.

Great article. The 99 is, truly, a fantastic lever action. Mine's in .308, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Gonna have to check it out and see if it has some of the rarer things they talked about in the article.

Even if mine's not overly special, it's still a keeper that will be handed down to my son when I'm gone. (I hope he appreciates all the trouble I went to to get a decent collection of guns for him to inherit....before I die, I know....)

My dad had one he bought in the early 50s. It was in 300 Savage. Dad died so Mom gave it to my loser nephew who was he favorite grandson. He pissed it away for drug money. It was a beautiful rifle that was lightning on deer. Enjoy yours.

It's a shame things like this happen. An heirloom lost....

I have 3 kids and only one of them (and his son, too) is into guns. I told him to see to it that the other two get a few, but they will be his to deal with as he wishes.

I, also, told him to give some to my other grandson as he's into them, too. I've taken him and his girlfriend shooting many times. He deserves to be left something as well.... Other than that, the rest of the family just has no interest in them.
