Nice article, one thing I think should be mentioned in addition to "what do you want the pistol for", is "how often do you intend to practice", I have found handguns to be difficult to shoot well without a fair amount of practice and experience. If your answer is, a box or two per year, then a handgun may not be for you. Having worked with my wife who is unfamiliar with firearms I notice that with an auto there is a lot to keep track of and keep in mind. Put the bullets in the mag this way, put the mag in, pull this thing, push this lever. If one has no experience with firearms and doesn't intend on getting much of it in the way of practice, I like a revolver.
