    Another One Followed Me Home

I have this thing for lever actions. I like the looks of them and just about everything else about them.

I've been looking at the Rossi's for a while now and took the plunge. I brought this one home last Saturday. It's a 20" barreled, .44 Mag. rifle in Stainless Steel.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it comes up nicely and is very smooth cycling.

If she preforms well at 50-75 yds., it'll become my new woods-running gun. I have a SS Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 M, or a S&W 629 to accompany it, depending on what I prefer to carry when I go out.

All in all, it should be a good rifle.

Congratulations! The only Rossi I have is their Ranch Hand in .357/.38 and it’s been nothing but reliable and fun.

I was seriously considering the .38/.357 but I don't have anything else that shoots that caliber. Since I have other .44 Mag long guns and handguns, I decided on the .44.

A long time ago, I had a .38/.357 Marlin lever gun and it was a great gun, but I didn't like the way the receiver was set up. I prefer the Winchester style receiver.

If I had a .357 handgun, I would probably have bought the M92 in that caliber.

    Nice and congrats.

I too have always had a thing for the lever rifle, and figuring no collection is complete without one or two, or three, or... I couldn't resist a Winchester 1895 in my favorite caliber- 30-06 rifle, one of the 30-06 100 year special edition Winnie 1895 Saddle ring carbine, and for every day plinking, a good old reliable and super accurate Henry .22LR.

    Beautiful rifle!

One of the things I've found is that the lever action rifle is a true American icon and, as far as I know, it's design was an American invention.

That's a great looking gun Ali.
IIRC, the Rossi is a clone of the Winchester and both are top eject. Is that right?

Those were two of the possibilities I considered several years ago before I obtained a Marlin 1894 in .357. I got it to go with my GP-100 and I'm reloading for both now.

    Yes, top ejection.

Since I won't be putting a scope on it I prefer the lower receiver profile of the top eject compared to the side eject. Top eject just looks a little sleeker to me.

Nothing wrong with a side eject, it's just a preference to me.
