For what it is worth I had some rimfire .22 ammo in my garage for about 15 years. Upon trying to shoot it about 50 percent of the rounds would not fire and the ones that would fire seemed to be weak.

Never had an issue with old centerfire ammo.

Been using 1952 Spanish 9mm in my Uzi for a long time and have not had any problems other than a couple of rounds weren't seated correctly. After reseating they fired perfectly.

I've fired many different calibers from WW-II and before. Never had any problems other than a few very hard primers that barely dented on the first shot and fired on the second try.

Were they Remington ThunderDuds (green box) by chance? Brand new, 1/2 of them don't fire.
