Went to a gun show about 70 miles away, but I was mainly looking for a flintlock rifle similar to those used by the Lewis and Clark expedition, but didn't find anything close. However, I did manage to find a pretty decent Hawken flinter, .50 cal.

The wood is beautiful (the photo is really too dark to see the pattern) but the flint doesn't throw much of a spark. Since I don't knap flints, I've ordered some replacements and they should be in sometime this week.

Then, I'll clean the frizzen, replace the flint and see what type of spark I get...

Overall, I'm very happy with this rifle.

I think I'm going to be focusing more on primitive firearms in the near future. I've got my eye on a blunderbuss, a double barreled flintlock shotgun, a double barreled flintlock pistol, and a Leech and Rigdon revolver.
