My friend got his first deer today. I recorded it.

He went from a "no guns" to a deer hunter in under a year. All the talking and gun shopping finally paid off. I found his rifle online. It was a new in the box, 1979 Savage 111 in 30-06. The scope is one I had. Today he got his first deer. It is now hanging in his shed. Not sure the weight but it is a good size deer. I just about died getting it in the back of my truck with him doing most of the work. Gutting it was a slow process that I eventually had to step in and cut harder. But he is happy. His wife is happy and I had fun. I brought my M1 Garand today. As seen in the last picture leaned with his as we were dragging mr spike out of the woods.

Here is the video of the shot. He hit the deer in the lungs. It ran about 100 feet and dropped.

That's cool. Nice work. I got lazy and usually don't hunt. I let a guy hunt on my place, and he usually gets me a deer in January after he's gotten a couple.

Seems to be like that. People with easy access to hunting never do it. I was thinking about that today actually. I know a few people that could literally shoot a deer out their bedroom window and have no interest in hunting. blows my mind. lol. Id have the place shot out. I wouldn't be able to stop myself. would be like a crack addiction.

Cannon county is way overpopulated with deer. They are everywhere. I did bag a buck friday with my Ranger. I sure wish someone had bagged him before I did.

Shouldn't be too hard to find one at the junkyard. Color probably won't matter much if you can get one that goes with it.

Nice shot! Pretty cool to see a friend get into guns and hunting. We need more people, good on you.

Its been a pretty interesting season in Northern Idaho.
I let too many little guys go waiting on a big one during archery season and ate my tag.
Got a nice whitetail with a rifle though.
I got skunked on my elk and bear tag this year.

My son, and myself each have one more deer tag and a few weeks left. Rut is kicking in, seeing alot of movement. Hope to punch some tags!
