    Just a reminder for safety

Check your smoke detectors. Most only last 7-10 years, some less. Haven't checked mine in a couple years and they are WAYYYYYYY overdue, original wired in ones when I built the house in 1995. Checked them today, none of them are testing right. 3 new ones going in. Nice $30 Kidde combo smoke and carbon monoxide ones wired and battery backup that tell you when the batteries are low, fire or carrbon monoxide by voice as well as beeping. The moral of the story here is I'm lucky we haven't had a fire in the last few years due to lack of testing/forgetfulness and failure to replace them. Hope this saves someone else who is living on borrowed time. BTW there are adaptors for newer Kidde detectors for houses wired for fireex detectors to make it easier replacement since Kidde uses a different connection. On Amazon.
