Post Christmas Feast after action report :D

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Christmas Holiday. What did you all feast on? Regular Christmas dinners like Turkey, mash potatoes, etc. ?

Or something more exotic. My buddy built his own smoker and we smoked some tri tip , Ham and salmon steaks. I did Turkey and the Thanksgiving style fixings for my family.

I was afraid the post Christmas after action report was going to be a NSFW picture of a toilet bowl

Yeah. We used to have a member who was a chef. I remember some of his photos of the food he cooked and some of his working buddies. Can't remember who he was....

I did cook but don't have pics. I made a roast beef that came out great. Mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.

After action report is I'm a little plugged up and gassy. I think is going to be a rough morning tomorrow.

We cheated this year and just got some pulled pork from a local place. We did make our slaw from scratch and put it all on brioche (sp?) buns. We ordered about three pounds of pork and it lasted us only about two days.

We had a vegetarian lasagna. It has apparently become a tradition. I wasn't asked but I do like lasagna and it is about the only time of year I get it so I am not going to complain.

Wow! Isn't that like a meatless hamburger, or an eggless omelette or a virgin martini? Everybody knows that American food has meat in it.....especially bacon or beef.....

I think that's part of the whole climate change/fake media hoax....and your family fell for it!

That's gotta be totally un-American, somehow....

Oh no, you've gone over to the Dark Side....!!!!!!!

My oldest son hosted this year and his chinese wife served Dim Sum, kind of like a smorgasbord and everyone drinks tea. She grew up in china, so her chinese food is not what we think of as chinese food...it was very interesting....pickled pigs ears and cucumber is not as bad as it sounds

and the question of the day was : what's in this? Her answer was "if you like it don't ask, if you don't like it ,don't eat it"

Our former Christmas tradition was Alaskan King Crab legs but at today's prices I could get a nice AK variant so we "settled" for ham, a sweet potato casserole, a broccoli/cauliflower casserole and a blackberry tea all prepared by my amazing daughter.

A very interesting looking spread. I recognize some like the deviled eggs on the right and the ham/wieners/meatballs on the left and, down in the very front, bacon-wrapped wieners and (I think) some Camembert or Brie cheese. But I'd like for you to ID three things. Just in front of the meat platter, what is that BBQed meat? And, just to the right - mini-quiches? And the glass tray in the front left - scalloped or au gratin potatoes?

I spent Christmas day in bed. I was dizzy, had a fever and some nasty stuff related to "#2" (believe me you don't want to know the details).

SO f--king pissed... my wife, my mother-in-law, my 3 kids, my oldest son's wife (with my granddaughter in the oven) and one brother-in-law and his wife... all had a nice home made turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, green beans, sweet potato, soft rolls, etc... with apple and cherry pie afterwards.

All I had was cold water and Imodium.

I will admit that there was one unfortunate event which required throwing out my underwear and taking a hot shower (which is no fun when shivering with a fever and the room spinning in circles as I start to see dark spots in my vision leading up to a "controlled pass out" on the bathroom floor).

I even had a flu shot. What the hell?
