    The only thing that came to mind when I saw it was maybe the hose was broken somewhere in the middle and the dude cracked the valve and then walked away (went to the store for a while?) or maybe it whipped out of the pool due to the whole conservation of momentum business and then ended up just laying on the ground for a while but yea, that and the natural drainage in his yard sucks because I know we get rainstorms here that put more GPM in my yard than my hose will.

    possibly, the pool was drained for cleaning. notice the pressure washer on the pool side. then there came a big rain.

    My guess would be that a nearby river overflowed its banks and there was some rain involved, too. The guy obviously had an empty pool prior to this....
