And now there are 400 million under quarantine. But, it's just the flu, Bro. Kinda funny that the hundreds we have quarantined in the US are not reporting on social media.

If 1% of their population dies wouldn't that add up to about 10 million souls?

    Horee Chit!

From what I've read, the reason the hospitals don't move the bodies to the morgue is because the morgues are full, so the bodies stay where they die. The morgues are full because the funeral homes are running 24/7 cremating the dead. The death toll seems a little low as far as official figures go. A epidemiologist following this mess figures about 69 million dead worldwide will be the result from this, and that's in the good scenario. My guess is 69 million will be the low side in China alone.

    And on to my question.

Do you guys think the chicoms would release this on their own people in order to influence Hong Kong as well as their greatest prize target, Taiwan? Keep in mind China has a lot of poeple and communists believe in the end justifies the means, with their deity mao having murdered 100+ million Chinese and being adored for it. Chicoms may kill a large number of their own people, but they will also eliminate the Hong Kong problem as well as Taiwan, and kill some of their foreign enemies too yet not take the blame for any of it. Some politicians in Russia and China are blaming the US for releasing this virus in China, I suspect China more than the cia but not by much.

Medieval diseases spreading in Los Angeles prove twisted Democrat priorities endanger public health
In a throwback to medieval times, Los Angeles is facing an infectious disease epidemic caused by flea-borne disease linked to rat-infested streets. Last October, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued a health alert surrounding an outbreak of flea-borne typhus in the homeless population in downtown Los Angeles.
A month later, Deputy City Attorney Liz Greenwood was diagnosed with typhus, which she claims came from fleas carried by rats that are infesting City Hall and an adjacent building, City Hall East, where she worked.

Where did they go? Millions left city before quarantine
SHANGHAI (AP) — For weeks after the first reports of a mysterious new virus in Wuhan, millions of people poured out of the central Chinese city, cramming onto buses, trains and planes as the first wave of China’s great Lunar New Year migration broke across the nation. Some carried with them the new virus that has since claimed over 800 lives and sickened more than 37,000 people.
Officials finally began to seal the borders on Jan. 23. But it was too late. Speaking to reporters a few days after the city was put under quarantine, the mayor estimated that 5 million people had already left.

Months Before Coronavirus Rocked the World, Cambridge University Warned of Race-Specific Bioweapons
“The technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated at ever cheaper prices, democratizing the ability to harm more quickly and lethally,” the authors of the report wrote. “In a particularly bad case, a bio-weapon could be built to target a specific ethnic group based on its genomic profile.”

North Korea Concealing Coronavirus Outbreak; Officials Ordered To 'Quickly Dispose Of Bodies'
One sure sign of the regime’s fears is that it failed to stage a parade in central Pyongyang on Saturday, the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the country’s armed forces. Last year, Kim Jong Un himself presided over the procession that displayed the North’s latest missiles and other fearsome hardware along with goose-stepping soldiers in serried ranks.
This year, nothing about the nation’s nuclear warheads, much less the “new strategic weapon” that Kim has vowed to unveil. Rodong Sinmum, the newspaper of the ruling Workers’ Party, merely cited the armed forces’ supposed success combating “severe and dangerous difficulties”—and said nothing at all about the parade. -Daily Beast
“Several suspected coronavirus infections have occurred in North Korea even though it shut all its borders,” said Chosun Ilbo, South Korea’s biggest-selling newspaper, citing anonymous sources. “The infections most likely spread through porous parts of the border with China that see plenty of smuggling and other clandestine traffic,” said the paper, reporting suspected cases among those “engaged in smuggling between the North and China.”
“Bottom line,” said Steve Tharp, who’s been analyzing North Korean affairs as both an army officer and civilian expert for many years here, “the coronavirus has tightened up sanctions enforcement more than any other measure over the years because the North Koreans are actually self-enforcing the sanctions, against their will, through the tight closing of their borders in order to save the regime from being wiped out by this human pandemic coming.”

Masked President Xi Warns 'Prepare For Long & Grim' Virus Battle As Trump Insists Outbreak Will End By April: Virus Updates
Update (1020ET): Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau said Monday morning that the coronavirus outbreak will definitely impact the Canadian economy, but the extent of the damage isn't yet clear.
Just minutes later, the WHO started their daily press briefing for Monday by adopting a markedly darker tone. Dr. Tedros, the WHO director-general, said that over the last few days, they've seen "concerning incidents" of onward spreading among people with no history of travel to China (including the Brits who were infected at a French chateau).
This "could be the spark that becomes a bigger fire," Tedros said.
Yesterday, Tedros tweeted that we may be seeing "only the tip of the iceberg" when it comes to the total number of cases, a shocking turn toward skepticism for somebody who seemed willing to distort the truth to help out Beijing just days ago.

Chinese economy collapses and stops because of coronavirus
According to Chinese industry experts, in February 2020, oil consumption in China is going to fall by 25 percen due to an outbreak of the coronavirus infection in the country. The new virus, which is commonly referred to as Wuhan flu, has paralyzed tourism and forced many enterprises to temporarily shut down their activities.

Is China Really Resuming Production? Here Is The Dismal Answer, And An "Alternative" Way To Track What's Really Going On
The start of the new year normally sees higher pollution across China due to higher coal/fuel consumption for heating and resumption of industrial production after Chinese New Year.
Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu see a clear pattern – air pollution is only 20-50% of the historical average. This could imply that human activities such as traffic and industrial production within/close to those cities are running 50-80% below their potential capacity.
However, Beijing pollution is similar to the historical average, probably because pollution in northern China is usually not good during winter time due to heating.
In summary, Morgan Stanley - which is as confused about what is really going on on the ground in China as the rest of us - believes that these sets of data "could provide an alternative view of economic activity in major cities in China, which are important for China rates and FX markets", and going forward will provide timely updates in due course. At least until China decides to "adjust" the pollution data too, making this latest "alternative" indicator of China's economy also meaningless.

UK Declares Coronavirus ‘Serious and Imminent Threat’, Activates Emergency Powers
Until now, the roughly 250 Britons quarantined at two hospitals after arriving back into the United Kingdom from China have been in isolation voluntarily on the advice of the government. But With the declaration “that the incidence or transmission of novel Coronavirus constitutes a serious and imminent threat to public health”, the hospitals in the UK become legally recognised as “isolation” areas, the Department of Health said in a statement.
This means the government can now keep people in isolation “for their own safety”, even if it is against their will, a spokesman for the department said.

Department Of Defense: Military Has Mass Quarantine Camps Set Up In US
Eleven military bases near major airports in the United States are setting up quarantine centers for possible coronavirus patients, the Department of Defense said. The Department of Health and Human Services asked the Pentagon for quarantine space in case beds fill up at other coronavirus centers around the country, according to a DOD statement. Additionally, the Pentagon already agreed to house up to 1,000 people for quarantine after they returned to the United States from areas with the virus, the Associated Press reports.

If Coronavirus Isn’t A Serious Threat To The US, Why Is Our Government Turning 11 Military Bases Into Quarantine Camps?
If this coronavirus outbreak is not a serious threat, then why is the U.S. government preparing to quarantine victims all over America? As you will see below, 11 U.S. military bases located close to major airports are being converted into “quarantine centers” for potential patients. When I first learned about this, I was greatly alarmed, because we have all seen what is going on in China right now. People are literally being physically dragged out of their homes and are being forcibly relocated to “mass quarantine camps” with hordes of other very sick people. Sadly, many of them will never come out of those camps alive. If this virus starts spreading like wildfire here in the United States, is it possible that something similar could start happening here?

About quarantine bases in the US, better be safe than sorry. Much like those who carry a firearm and state they would rather have and not need then need and not have.

People will complain about the quarantine bases, but if there was no quarantine and the disease spread across the USA, I can imagine the complaints about the government that didn't do anything. Almost a catch 22 Yosarian.

Chinese Medical Workers Detained for Sharing Coronavirus Videos
According to Chinese state media reports quoted by the Epoch Times, the five individuals – identified only by their surnames – were detained for filming coronavirus patients and using the WeChat social media platform to share the recordings. Four of them were given ten-day administrative detention sentences and all were slapped with fines that worked out to a little over $70 in U.S. currency.

China Has Ground To A Halt: "On The Ground" Indicators Confirm Worst-Case Scenario
Back on Monday, when analysts and investors were desperately seeking clues whether China has managed to reboot its economy from the 2-week long hiatus following the Lunar New Year/Coronavirus pandemic amid the information blackout unleashed by the communist party in the already opaque country, we pointed out some alternative ways to keep tabs of what is really taking place "on the ground" in China, where Xi Jinping has been urging local businesses and workers to reopen and resume output, while ignoring the risk the viral pandemic poses to them (with potentially catastrophic consequences).

Hong Kong Health Officials: Coronavirus May Have Spread Through Bathroom Pipes
The problem, as Housing Minister Frank Chan-fan explained, is that many residents have altered the safe but ungainly piping arrangement in their bathrooms, creating unsafe situations where “foul air” can spread between units because the vent pipes have been retrofitted or disconnected entirely. Newer apartments have their bathroom pipes discreetly hidden inside the walls, so the residents are not likely to modify them.
Such alterations were not permitted for public housing tenants until the revised guidelines were issued in 2016. The SCMP cited speculation that the rules were changed mainly to relieve some of the burden on the housing department, which lacked the manpower to perform all the inspections needed under the older, stricter guidelines.
Chan-fan stressed that the coronavirus did not spread through water pipes and toilets, but rather through air vent pipes bundled into the plumbing system. This clarification was important because the 2003 SARS epidemic was known to spread through faulty plumbing.

Senator Cotton Demands Beijing Prove Coronavirus Isn't A Bioweapon As Another 'Conspiracy Theory' Goes Mainstream
Apparently, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton believes Beijing needs to address these questions, particularly after China's ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai accused him of "xenophobia" against Chinese people by even suggesting that the virus could have been engineered as a bioweapon.
"I think it’s true that a lot is still unknown and our scientists, Chinese scientists, American scientists, scientists of other countries, are doing their best to learn more about the virus, but it’s very harmful, it’s very dangerous, to stir up suspicion, rumors and spread them among the people," he said.
"For one thing, this will create panic," Cui said, adding that it could also foment xenophobia and racist discrimination.
"There are all kinds of speculation and rumors," he added, noting that there were also conspiracy theories about the virus originating in the United States. "How can we believe all these crazy things?"

Labs Find Problem With US-Issued Coronavirus Test Kits
Multiple state labs found a problem with coronavirus test kits issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) centered on inconclusive lab results, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of one of the CDC’s centers, said on Feb. 12.
Kits were sent to all 50 states, some of which already tested them as part of a normal procedure. Some state labs reported some “inconclusive lab results,” Messonnier told reporters on a phone call.

This Is What Happened After One Chinese Company Rushed To Reopen After The Corona-Chaos
Today, two days after China officially returned to work, we got the first confirmation of just how catastrophic Beijing's order to local enterprises and businesses to rush back reboot the economy could be, when Jennifer Zeng reported that a company in Suzhou reopened, and immediately at least one CoVid2019 case found. As a result, the company's 200+ employees couldn't go home and were immediately placed under quarantine. At least the workers managed to "organize" quilts for themselves.

Chinese Cities Seize Personal Property to Control Spread of Coronavirus
In both of the big Guangdong cities, legislators approved emergency measures that would enable officials to temporarily seize homes, commercial property, public venues, and vehicles thought to be contaminated, as well as commanding private businesses to produce any materials deemed necessary in fighting the coronavirus. Shortages of medical equipment and protective gear have been a persistent problem in areas where the virus is spreading, and shortages of food and supplies for quarantined populations are becoming a serious issue.

Is THIS Why Most Coronavirus Deaths Have Been In Chinese Men?
In this study, we analyzed four large-scale datasets of normal lung tissue to investigate the disparities related to race, age, gender and smoking status in ACE2 gene expression. No significant disparities in ACE2 gene expression were found between racial groups (Asian vs Caucasian), age groups (>60 vs <60) or gender groups (male vs female). However, we observed significantly higher ACE2 gene expression in smoker samples compared to nonsmoker samples. This indicates the smokers may be more susceptible to 2019-nCov and thus smoking history should be considered in identifying susceptible population and standardizing treatment regimen.
The Chinese smoke a lot. BBC reported in 2015:
China is the world's biggest consumer of cigarettes - one in three cigarettes smoked globally is in China - as well as the world's biggest tobacco producer.
More than 300 million people - about a quarter of the population - smoke, with the average smoker consuming 22 cigarettes a day.

China Vows To Put An End To "Lab Leakage Of Pathogenic Microorganisms And Various Samples"
Seemingly providing more anecdotal evidence that the Covid-19 outbreak was caused by an accidental leak of a bio-engineered virus and not by some freak of nature in Wuhan's market, China's Communist Party has issued a serious "Wartime Order" demanding more care and containment be taken with virus handling. Specifically:
“Strengthen laboratory management and resolutely put an end to the theft, leakage, and loss of pathogenic bacteria (poisons) and various samples...”

"I Was Knocking On Hell's Door": 21-Year-Old Student Recounts 'Nightmare' Of Contracting Virus In Wuhan
By the time his follow-up appointment at the hospital arrived four days later, the Wuhan government had locked down the city, barring anyone from leaving to stop the virus’ spread. Everything changed in an instant: roads were empty, prices for fresh fruit and vegetables surged, and residents were unsure if they were even allowed to leave their apartments.
Ye was soon confronted by one of the most maddening aspects of Wuhan's virus response: Since the shortages of supplies and doctors were so severe, officials were forced into a brutal triage, often turning away patients after CT scans showed the infection had spread to the lungs.
Doctors soon decided that Ye's case wasn't severe enough to warrant a nucleic acid test to confirm his case and get him to the next level of care.

The Geopolitical Deployment of Biological Weapons
From the very earliest days of America’s bio-warfare experiments, US political and military leaders, as well as CIA officials, made no effort to hide their interest in developing methods of infecting individuals with cancer as a method of ridding themselves of national leaders they didn’t like, a method with perfect deniability. The US record of having assassinated by various means about 150 political leaders in other nations will attest to this assertion.
“The attraction is that bio-weapons are not only very efficient mass killers but are quite cost-effective compared to shooting wars. As well, genetic weapons can be dispersed in a multitude of ways, using virus-infected insects or bacteria, or spliced into GM seeds. These weapons are difficult to detect and identify, and often a treatment or vaccine could be years in the making.”
Dr. Leonard Horowitz, the famed pharma industry whistleblower, quoted one expert as saying he would plan a bio-attack
“with subtle finesse, to make it look like a natural outbreak. That would delay the response and lock up the decision-making process. Even if you suspect biological terrorism, it’s hard to prove. It’s equally hard to disprove . . . You can trace an arms shipment, but it’s almost impossible to trace the origins of a virus that comes from a bug.”

Hubei Doctors Warn Of Even-Deadlier Coronavirus Reinfection Causing Sudden Heart Attacks
"It’s highly possible to get infected a second time. A few people recovered from the first time by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart tissue, and when they get it the second time, the antibody doesn’t help but makes it worse, and they die a sudden death from heart failure," reads a message forwarded to Taiwan News from a relative of one of the doctors living in the United Kingdom.
The source also said the virus has “outsmarted all of us,” as it can hide symptoms for up to 24 days. This assertion has been made independently elsewhere, with Chinese pulmonologist Zhong Nanshan (鍾南山) saying the average incubation period is three days, but it can take as little as one day and up to 24 days to develop symptoms.
Also, the source said that false negative tests for the virus are fairly common. “It can fool the test kit – there were cases that they found, the CT scan shows both lungs are fully infected but the test came back negative four times. The fifth test came back positive.” -Taiwan Times
Notably, one of the ways coronaviruses cripple the immune system is via an HIV-like attachment to white blood cells, which triggers a 'cytokine storm' - a term popularized during the avian H5N1 influenza outbreak - in which an uncontrolled release of inflammatory 'cytokines' target various organs, often leading to failure and in many cases death.
The cytokine storm is best exemplified by severe lung infections, in which local inflammation spills over into the systemic circulation, producing systemic sepsis, as defined by persistent hypotension, hyper- or hypothermia, leukocytosis or leukopenia, and often thrombocytopenia.
In addition to lung infections, the cytokine storm is a consequence of severe infections in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, central nervous system, skin, joint spaces, and other sites.

Covid-19 Contagion - An "Unprecedented" Moment For Our Hyper-Connected Planet
We don’t see the economy as a closed ecosystem to be analyzed and understood all on its own. It’s connected to energy flows, especially oil. So we investigate those, too, with an eye towards working out how fossil fuels’ eventual dwindling will impact an economic system that is utterly dependent on perpetual growth.
Without a healthy planet, without intact and functioning ecological systems, nothing matters in either the economy or the energy markets. Both impact the ecological world And vice versa. So we analyze and report on the environment, too.
Which is why we’re confident in claiming that humanity is now facing its greatest threat. Our current path of depleting our essential resources at an accelerating rate in the pursuit of “more growth” is both unsustainable and self-destructive.

Could packages sent from China carry the coronavirus?
A hot potato: With the number of cases rising, more people outside of China are becoming concerned about the coronavirus. One question that’s being asked is: can the virus be carried on packages shipped directly from the country?
While such a scenario was part of a Simpsons episode from 1993, in which “Osaka Flu” traveled from Japan to Springfield after a factory worker coughed into a package, there are genuine fears that something similar could happen with the coronavirus.
While the answer isn’t 100 percent definite, it seems the risk of the virus surviving a long trip from China on the surface of a package is extremely low. There is still a lot about 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) that’s unknown, but according to the CDC, a lot of the information comes from previous coronaviruses that cause severe illnesses in people: MERS and SARS.

New evidence from Bloomberg reveals cracking global supply chains are fast emerging at major Chinese ports with thousands of containers of frozen meat piling up with nowhere to go.
The Covid19 outbreak will remain a dominant issue for 1Q as supply chain shocks are being felt by multinationals on either side of the hemisphere.
Sources told Bloomberg that containers of frozen pork, chicken, and beef (mostly from South America, Europe, and the US) are piling up at Tianjin, Shanghai, and Ningbo ports because of the lack of truck drivers and many transportation networks remain closed.
Seaports in China are quickly running out of room to house the containers and cannot provide enough electricity points to keep existing containers cold. This has forced many vessels to be rerouted to other destinations

Tom Cotton on Coronavirus: Establishment Media ‘Spouting’ Chinese ‘Communist Party Line’
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) ripped establishment U.S. media outlets who have mischaracterized his comments on the origins of the coronavirus outbreak plaguing China and the world during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News this week.
Cotton, who this past weekend during an appearance on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox News Channel program Sunday Morning Futures laid out how Communist China has not been honest about the origins of the coronavirus, has been the subject of vicious attacks from establishment media in the U.S. as a result.

Washington State Monitoring 712 People for Coronavirus Symptoms
“The number of people under public health supervision includes those at risk of having been exposed to Novel Coronavirus who are monitoring their health under the supervision of public health officials. This number includes close contacts of laboratory-confirmed cases, as well as people who have returned from China in the past 14 days and are included in federal quarantine guidance,” the department said in an update on its website.

China Deploys 40 Mobile Incinerators To Wuhan

Expert warns 'quarantine process failed' as China stands ready to crash world economy
China's rush to reopen factories and markets in the midst of a poorly understood outbreak may backfire, a failure that could result in one of the worst depressions the world has ever seen. It's no secret that the COVID-19 virus has dealt a punishing blow to the Chinese economy since its emergence months ago. With over 700 million now under some form of lockdown to control the coronavirus, work has ground to a halt

The excerpt further mentions that "the Chinese could use Wuhan-400 to wipe out a city and a country, and then there wouldn't be any need for them to conduct a tricky and an expensive decontamination before they moved in and took over the conquered territory."

South Korean city on high alert as coronavirus cases soar at 'cult' church
In what the Korean centre for disease control called a “super spreader” event, almost half of the country’s total of 82 infections have been linked to a 61-year-old woman who worships at the Daegu church, an entity often accused of being a cult.
She first developed a fever on 10 February but reportedly twice refused to be tested for the coronavirus on the grounds that she had not recently travelled abroad. She attended at least four services before being diagnosed.
So far, 37 other members of the church have been confirmed as infected.

ok so how did she get it, and why did they finger her as the source?

As of now the BIGGEST threat to us is not medical. Seriously. GOOD THING Trump has put securing not only our land borders but beefed up all ports of entry into this country.

But the biggest threat to us is world wide economic collapse. I know there are guys who don't care "gee I'm safe in my cabin in the wood, I don't care"...., but it WILL HURT US if the biggest foreign economies go into free fall. With no money, no one will buy American exports. If their own economies collapse, they can't sell us stuff that we need. Everything is interconnected nowadays, which is probably the biggest reason why I don't believe there will be another WORLD WAR .... that is unless something strange happens ..... something like a world wide pandemic that devastates the economies of a majority of the world's nations.....

In the back of my mind I can't help thinking this is a grandstand play by China to show who holds the purse strings.
Not that there isn't a virus but not near the extreme response needed.

Agreed, right now the locusts are eating their way across North Africa, India, and elsewhere leaving little green plantlife behind them. The price of food, save for locust meat, is going to rise sharply for these countries. Also, not only is our supply chain in disruption due to the virus, a lot of local Chinese municipalities are going to miss their bond payments for lack of funding.
So not just businesses across the globe are being hit, but local governments too, at least in China. Apparently some businesses are firing up in China after a few weeks of lockdown, but it remains to be seen how smart this move is going to be.

Of the cases 14 are in Lombardy and two in Veneto.

None of the 16 had recently visited China, raising concerns about the speed of the disease’s spread.

Salvini Slams Coronavirus Control Methods as Cases Confirmed in Lombardy and Veneto
“I think of the controls on who enters and leaves Italy: obviously something is not working,” Salvini said in comments reported by Il Giornale.

Cotton: China Is Carefully Managing the Flow of Information About Coronavirus
Cotton told Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham noted how the Chinese government was not updating the rest of the world on what its doctors and scientists were observing regarding coronavirus.
“I don’t disagree that China’s scientists and doctors can, in some cases, be world-class, and they can be professional,” he said. “However, they have sitting next to them at every level of government a minder from the Chinese Communist Party. And I do not have any confidence in those party apparatchiks allowing China’s scientists or their doctors to speak freely to anyone outside of China, especially officials in the United States government. That’s why we’ve seen the numbers of this coronavirus continue to spike in strange, unpredictable patterns. Those aren’t newly discovered cases. Those are newly disclosed cases because China is carefully managing the flow of information about this virus.”

When all is said and done, I hope the WHO spokespeople will have their lips sewn to the ass of Xi. It pains me to hear them praise the Chinese and their work to control the spread. Ugh
