OG I just hope he doesn't need surgery, that is what hes been waiting to find out. He worries about his friends who are younger and little less driven to force the issue.

Charles Rangel is guilty! Waiting to see what they do about it....LOL

I guess everyone is too busy for coffee today.

Ms Pelsoi is still the leader of the democrat socialists in DC, I think this will help to elect some more common sense conservatives in 2012.

Another day in paradise here. You all have a FANTASTIC Day.

Getting ready to pick my mom from the airport on Monday. I loaded her shed with a ton of lingetics logs yesterday. That will last her more than the winter if the weather gets cold. I think she'll be surprised when she gets back.

She ran out of money while she was in Germany. My sister said she spent over $1,000 on fabric in Amsterdam, then forgot her pin number was for her debt card. I think that saved her savings account.

Aw bless her heart, almost did the same thing in Spain and Hong Kong. Good thing I am pretty set on being a cash only guy and that most of my paycheck went into Savings Bonds.

Did you guys save her or did she have to put the fabric back? Everybody has to go foolish and fall off the log at least once in their life.

Or twice...well maybe three times. Okay, okay four times, everybody is allowed four times major splurge. Especially momma's, they earned it.

    Be careful out there...........

The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a very cold winter.

It must be true because the squirrels are gathering nuts.

Three of my friends have already disappeared.

    Are you O.K.?

Cold here, we have a small kerosene heater. Keeping the electric heat on only high enough to keep the pipes from freezing. Its free to wear my coat in the house.

63D guess what the Army lost sons medical records. I told him repeatedly to insist on copies. He says they make it impossible to get a copy. Im fed up with the goofiness not sure what I could ever do to help... its so frustrating.

Kathy, one recourse is for your son to find someone who remembers the incident where your son was injured. Another is to find someone who remembers your son going to the aid station and what he went there for. There will be the assumption of injury on the part of the Government as all the walking with weight the soldiers had to do. He'll have 90 days after he gets out to place a claim that isn't in his records. It'll be harder for him to get the disability claims, but it's possible.

What will your momma make with that fabric?

Thanks 63D, I will tell him. He is thinking that this will delay his medical discharge anyway. He still doesn't have the date for his December leave so that also messed up his wedding next month. Looks like they are messing with him, but he and his bride will just drive here. That may be better, flying has become a little weird anyway.

Kathy, I really don't know. Since I moved out decades ago, she moved into my sister's room and turned my bedroom into a sewing room/fabric storage. She turned the master bedroom into a fabric storage room. Just about every time I go over there, she has me stack more fabric higher. I'm afraid I'm going to find her buried under a mountain of fabric one of these days! Ironiclly, she has a bumpersticker that says, "She who dies with the most fabric wins!"

Country folk from the old country back ground did have that collecting gene. I don't think either Grandma ever threw a scrap of cloth away if it could be used as a patch, in a rug or a quilt and you should have seen the paisley purple pajamas I had when I was 5...uh maybe better you didn't but I sure liked them at the time.

Lots of us kids in school back then with homemade clothes and while store bought may have been more prestigious I can't believe they were any better quality.

OG I would love to see those little jammies, I hand sewed my oldest son a tiny little pair of pants and a flannel by hand.....I loved that little suit. My grandma made clothes for us. Knitted and sewn, I have a poncho she made on her knitting machine from the oddest of 1960s colors that were likely on sale. It also has fringe.

Typing on the laptop my son got me for Christmas, can get enough of bragging about it.... sorry about it but last year I feared he would not find any work at all.

24 degrees was our high, i6t was supposed to get to 27 but they lied. Still no snow, flannel PJ's and a soft wool robe might have been just the thing today.

Most comfortable shirt I ever owned as an adult was handmade. Sometimes I wish I could sew but some days I have trouble just lacing up my boots. Isn't going to happen.

On my second pot of coffee, belly is beginning to complain, might have to bite the bullet and get some of that good stuff you guys talk about but I am under severe budget constraints at the moment.

Let us know how son is doing with the system. I hate it when they, (military), mess with their people like that and then deny everything. Sometimes they are so good and then...

One good story about his Army experience, the lady they have in charge of making sure the student loans are taken care of straightened that out. I got a copy of the statement in the mail. Its paid off. I almost had a stroke dealing with those people (the student loan people) and she fixed their wagon and made sure the paperwork went through.

It was in the mids 60s here but I had to work, could have spent a little time riding otherwise.

Hope you all have some plans to eat lots of fattening food on Thanksgiving. I also hope you all know how thankful and grateful I am for each and every one of you. Thank You for defending our great Nation and our Freedom.

It's time for jammies here! It's supposed to get down around 9 degrees here. So much for global warming!

Happy Thanksgiving day! I'm thankful for having friends like yall! I know I haven't met some of you, but I met most of you. I'm also thankful for having an outstanding family like what I have. I'm thankful for the spirit Liz and Erika have shown in working towards their individual goals and the support they show towards each other when they help each other.

I'm also thankful for the two kids I'm helping. They've been an eye opener because the life they had to live on the streets and the spirit they show in bouncing back and taking charge of their lives when they signed up for school and work study. I'm thankful for the appreciation they've shown for the second chance they're getting with their education.

Iv been away for a long time. So Iv missed a lot of things.

Anyway... 63 ... there are assholes all over the place, and the biggest assholes arround are usually family. I have a few assholes in my family too. I guess they think Im an asshole too.

Well... Al Gore can kiss my hairy ass. Global warming.... yeah right. Over here its so cold you got to bring a hammer to knock your banana loose if you take a piss outside. New record for November since they started to record the temperature. Today was -15C coming with a wind from hell. Its the russians fault. Bad weather coming from Siberia. They say its going to last for a while. X-mas or so....

Im in some kind of credit card trouble myself. As Im on the brinck of buying an original Rogers & Spencer. Its in incredibly good shape....but at some point someone has ruined the front sight and put a german style blade there. So the price is reduced dramaticaly. Still not like buying mousetraps at wallmart. Good thing is Iv been working my ass of for months, so Ill survive if Im stupid enough to buy it. And Im stupid allright. Infact, Old Grump is to blame for me being a stupid handgun nut..... Not that I hate him for it. He just opened my eyes. Well, OG didnt mention old percussion revolvers to be a part of the game, but he is still to blame for it. Ill ruin your mailbox when I get up there again OG. Did I mention that I got a "green card USA" when I turned 40 on the 15.? Yes I did. Mona gave me a big envelope. And inside was a "good to go" to Blue River along with pocket money..... So keep that light on for me please.

Apart from freezing and wasting money on old weapons there is nothing new over here. Little one has learned how to read and write though. Almost sad to think about that it feels like yesterday when she couldnt even talk or walk straight.

Have a great weekend everybody... and ha en jævlig fin dag

    Henning

Hedning I hope you can be saved from your trouble...

Looks like trouble in North Korea. I sure hope we are not drawn into another conflict right now.

Still recovering from Thanksgiving, too much good food. Hope all is well out there.
