    From the article above:

“These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time. There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada,” said the prime minister. “Effective immediately, it is no longer permitted to buy, sell, transport, import or use military-grade assault weapons in this country.”

Does this apply to the police as well? If I read the article correctly, the perp got his "assault weapons" from the police officer he killed.

Maybe they shouldn't be so armed, either.... Revolvers and double barreled shotguns should be sufficient...

Couldn't you say that about the first flintlock coming from a matchlock, caplock from flint lock, the first level gun that was marketed toward the military for sales around the time of the civil war was marketed that way. I am sure the .30-40 kraig, '03 springfield, k98, lee enfield, etc had that in mind too.

    Yup.

I wonder what they'll say when someone invents a hand-held pulse gun, laser-spray shotgun, burst carbine, or a photon particle beam rifle.....
