Agreed: the Chinese want to colonize the U.S. and take over the agricultural regions and get access to the natural resources. This is why I still believe they will use an EMP strike to take out the electrical grids. This would only take a few and have no ill effects on the land or the livestock.
The population in major cities would kill each other off in short order, which greatly reduces the resistance to an invasion force or a need to round up and contain people.
