The news said it was an estimated 2,750 metric tons from a confiscated shipment about 6 years ago.
There appeared to be a fire (the gray column of smoke) before the "white flash" explosion. That white flash may have been the vaporized water of the bay because of the speed with which the white cloud disappeared.
There was one picture I saw that shows the water-filled crater that resulted from this blast.
