Ammo Prices are ridiculous. And I can't get reloading components. They're all sold out. Can't wait until this panic buying slows down, but with all the DEMOCRAT rioting going on, I don't see it slowing down in the foreseeable future

I'm just loading .308 for a sig saur ssg 3000 right now, pretty low volume, 40 rnds per week just to stay in practice. Not shooting my F-class or benchrest rifles at all until components are available again. I use a lot of Varget, really happy i bought 8lbs on sale last year for $159,it was $195/8lbs when i checked last week, and they were out of stock
I delivered a pallet of ammo to a store in Dickson Tn. They are getting 700 bucks for a case of 9mm.
How much in a case? (different numbers for different companies)
There was a gun show out here in August. Probably 1/4 the size of the Will Rogers show in Ft. Worth but it's still fun to go look. Remember going there as a kid and know a dozen or so of the regulars who have tables.

500 rnd. value packs of Winchester 9mm (that Academy had for 104$ + tax) were going for 300 to 350$
1000 rnd. boxes of 5.56 SS109 green tips (that were less than 400$ shipped a few years ago) were going for 1000 to 1200$
100 rnd. value packs of Winchester .380 (don't remember the pre-stupid cost) were going for 100 to 120$
Police trade-in Beretta 92s in decent shape with 1 mag were around 500$
Glock 17s and 19s were anywhere from 600$ to 900$ depending on which generation and how many mags.
Scary thing is; people were actually buying at those prices.

My son got a big insurance refund this week and plans on buying a pistol today if he can get a decent price. He has a buddy with a gun store (and a YouTube channel) who might can ease the pain some.

Hmmm, i drove up to Payson (N. AZ) yesterday and the local gun shop was out of everything but FN pistols and one used kimber 1911 that was over priced, ammo was scarce. There were no price tags on the FN pistols

Agreed. However, if you shoot black powder, and can cast your own projectiles, and have plenty of caps/flints/ and powder, then you can still spend a lot of time at the range.
Due to the after effects of COVOD-19, I still can't get out to the range yet to do some shooting. I have a .31 rifle I'm itching to run through its paces. Maybe in a few weeks....sigh.....

If the SHTF to the point that we need to start shooting the bad guys, remember that they will be shooting back. We won't need "cases" of ammo. People on both sides will die. The lucky ones will last long enough to use a second loaded mag.

Agreed, the cause of this panic is different. The overall effect, however, is still the same.
Problem right now is all the people buying up anything they can lay hands on to resell at gun shows for a ridiculous mark-up.
