History Is on the Side of Republicans Filling a Supreme Court Vacancy in 2020

Twenty-nine times in American history there has been an open Supreme Court vacancy in a presidential election year, or in a lame-duck session before the next presidential inauguration. This counts vacancies created by new seats on the Court, but not vacancies for which there was a nomination already pending when the year began, such as happened in 1835–36 and 1987–88.) The president made a nomination in all twenty-nine cases.

Unfortunately when the republicans blocked King Barack in his last year from getting an appointment, all bets are off on Trump getting one pushed through before the coming war... I mean election.

"History" is on the side? How about THE CONSTITUTION is on the side of the President?

Technically, the President in this case is on the side of the Constitution.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

This is true, but we both know the craps would've done the same thing in reversed roles though they won't admit it.

So far it seems they have enough votes to make this a done deal.

Expecting the announcement in about 45 minutes, but I really hope Amy Coney Barrett gets named. For those who would vote based on only one issue, Barrett is firmly behind the second amendment, getting the approval of one John R. Lott Jr.!

Barrett is probably one of the most constitutional judges we have had in a long time.

There was a show on the radio today that indicated that, because Barrett has already undergone the vetting for her current position (7th Cir. in Chicago), she may have an easier go than anybody else.

Not a chance, the Democraps will crucify her with every slander they can cook up in their rabid minds along with their media pals.

"After the last battle is fought, the last fire put out, the last wound dressed, the last prisoner rounded up, what country will take these wretches from out shores?"
