    Question .22 Mag Rifles

Looking to get a rifle in the .22 mag version. Best one out there to get and price wise?

For several years, I have had a Marlin bolt-action in .22 Mag (a 983 bought in '09) so I could pair it with my Ruger Single Six Combo. Since then, I have also gotten a Keltec PMR-30 semi-auto pistol. I am considering the Keltec CMR-30 rifle but I hesitate because, like the 10/22, it can be an "ammo waster". And Mag ammo is a lot more expensive than .22LR.

I have a Keltec CMR-30 rifle and it's a great little rifle. Yes, I could blast away and shoot up a lot of ammo, but I use it more like I woud use a bolt action...one shot at a time. I don't think I've ever dumped a whole mag with it. So far, it's been very reliable and accurate.

Probably for the money the Marlin XT-22M (wood) or the XT-22MR (synthetic) would be your best deal.

    MODEL XT-22M - https://www.marlinfirearms.com/rimfi...s/model-xt-22m

Steve/Recon - all three of those rifles are nice but here is a tidbit for your consideration.
The 2 Marlins have magazines protruding from the underside of the fore-end that might make it hard to place on a rest. The Henry doesn't have that but, like the Marlin bolt-action I have, it has a tubular magazine. They can be slow and awkward to reload.
Those are problems that the Keltec CMR-30 doesn't have AND it is a more compact gun.
