Almost lost my mother in law last nite. She was over for Christmas Eve & birthday celebration. With copd she carried a tank of O2 and a spare. Went thru both within 3 hours because she set the flow too high. My sister in law drove to an emergency room and got her treatment in the nick of time. Father in law actually had administered cpr in the car on the way.
The doctors said her co2 was way too high and was minutes away from death when got there.
She is fine this morning, but what a scare.

Glad your MIL made out okay. If might not be a bad idea to keep a few cans of Boost Oxygen around (10 ml. size). They are 95% pure oxygen. Regular air is 21% and most portable oxygen generators only make 32% oxygen. 95% will cut down CO2 levels fairly quickly.Originally Posted by sevlex
