Good amazon show. The man in the high castle

I might have heard it from one of you guys, but I've been watching it, pretty cool show about the Germans and Japanese winning WWII and splitting up our country.

If it were made today, it's be the Russians and the Chinese splitting us up....

They would invade from the same direction, but yeah I fear they have plans together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzayf9GpXCI this might be verbotten to say, but the Germans had the snazziest uniforms and though the SS was satan personified theirs were impressive and probably designed that way to invoke fear.

It is more likely that the Russians would use a 2-pronged approach. One would come from the west, over Alaska and into the Pacific NW with the other coming in over Greenland and down the East Coast.
The Russians coming from those angles would very likely use "great circle" routes, coming in low over the Arctic ice to avoid as much radar as possible.
The ChiComs would be most likely to hit the central and southern West Coast (mainly CA), moving quickly to isolate CA from the desert southwest (AZ, NM, NE).

    Why?

One EMP at the appropriate height above Kansas, satellite killers blinding us simultaneously, subs taking out our surface and sub-surface fleets...they could then invade at their leisure from both coasts.

They have the high ground now...with hypersonics in reserve...

Oswald, from what I understand, most EMPs only cover 500-1,000 miles. They would need two for the East Coast, esp. for those hardened facilities, with one over NYC and the other over DC. Other facilities that would be hit are Chicago, St. Louis/Scott AFB, Cheyenne Mt. (NORAD), Seattle, and LA.

I enjoyed it also. Food for thought.

The discussion in this thread reminds me of a discussion in this forum many years ago regarding the series Jericho.

Coverage depends on height of blast and yield. It certainly still needs to be atmospheric, but at what height for the given yield of the weapon? Do you honestly believe they have nothing like Tsar Bomba any longer?

Okay, so a couple or four peripheral bases are relatively unaffected...what are they going to do when eyes, ears...all communication from central are down?
