A day that will rock the nation no matter the outcome. I myself like so many others will be at my state capitol to support not only my president but to protest the mass shutdown, overstepping and restricting our constitutional rights coupled with an election that appears to be straight out of Columbia or Argentina. Without our votes being secure, we lose every avenue to fight socialism and tyranny with the exception of the hardest and scariest propositions most of us will ever face. I am not a deeply religious man but I pray our country can solve the problems dividing us. I am not hopeful so I also pray that those willing to step up and confront our enemy can do so safely and peacefully. I am hope full the patriots will out number the anarchist and the righteous out number those hell bent on destroying this republic. Those planning our event in Salem have asked us to dress formally, masks, water, baby shampoo for gas in the eyes, heavy clothes helmets and of course body armor if we have it. The "secondary" attire is also recommended for personal protection from those who may plan a counter protest. Yellow scarves, shirts or other items so the international color of distress. It should be uneventful but the boy Scout motto to be prepared should be practiced.

Every day our country slides further from what we know into the abyss of covid excused tyranny where simple men are denied the right to make a living for their wives and children. Not given the choice of risk or destruction many Americans have lost everything, some their lives, wives or homes. At the risk of being overtly dramatic it may be time to stand and deliver. This country has allowed me to live comfortable, make a living, given me choices. At the same time, the swamp people have kept the leash loose but have always reminded us we are only as free as they let us be.

Thugs have taken over our street. Crime is through the roof, Shootings doubled, tripled. Mayors and governors sit idle either from fear of complicity. Neither is acceptable. These groups do what they want. Portland had over 150 days of riots every single night while the police are told to hide behind fences and let them have their way, Portland looks like a third world ghetto as the district attorney refuses to prosecute. Antifa started fires for two weeks burning thousands of acres, homes and business and it was suppressed by the local media. Only a few police had the balls to tell the truth.

All this anarchy has been met with? Have we become so wrapped up in our own little world that love of country means nothing? Have we become so afraid that we hide behind lock doors promising that we will shoot them if/when they come to our neighborhood? Our families, our children deserve better than living in a world where we hunker down and question when they will come for us because we have a flag in the yard, or have purchased a firearm, ammo or a knife.

I apologize for the long post that many will find too dramatic or inflammatory. The bottom line is a simple question or two you have to ask yourself. Does it matter to you? How deeply are you invested in the America you grew up in? Are you content to sit out another day of civil disorder and let others protect your liberty? Are you a Patrick Henry of a John Kerry?

    Agreed !!

We need people like the "greatest generation" but I'm afraid there aren't any like them out there now. They have been "coddled" by the system for too long and have lost the desire, the will, to do anything about it. They have been brought up on the "me first" idea and have lost the power to think critically and reason out for themselves what to do.

Also, they are no longer taught to be "self-reliant."

That concept started being erased in the late 1960's. Since then, they have been taught they can do much better as a team, not by themselves.

This concept was standard procedure when I started teaching in the 1970's.
