There are some things I will not abide within my sight!
At the same time there are those that need or maybe want that can't get them
It would serve better to get them in their hands
I'm talking large collections that may otherwise just sit there doing nothing and makes it cumbersome to hide or register whichever
And if discovered all of a sudden are gone to confiscation
I whittled mine down a long time ago do to unemployment, have what I need and don't plan on getting rid of them

Just a thought, while Biden is worried about an AR-15 with a 300 yard range on a good day with a great trigger puller, it will be an angry FUDD who finds out his favorite deer or bear rifle is on the list, and he is used to taking 500 yard shots with a good reach out and touch something rifle. That FUDD will provide true danger to anyone wanting confiscation or other unconstitutional regulations.
By your last two posts... you sound defeated already. I am not selling anything, surrendering anything, registering anything or selling anything "back" to the government. I am an American citizen and my right to keep and bear arms will not be infringed as long as I'm alive. "Just throwing that out there".

No no not at all I feel the same
I guess I'm thinking it's easier for say 20 people to hide one gun a piece than one person to hide 20 guns if it actually comes to that
If someone has more than they actually need it may be a good time to get them out to ones that now find they need one

Well, as far as "other people" are concerned... if they don't own their own firearms, I gotta ask "why?". If they are anti-gun weenies that suddenly find out they're facing an enemy unarmed, my feeling is "you got exactly what you wanted". It's not our job to save others... especially those who would have most likely reported you or me to the cops for owning "scary rifles". Fuck 'em.
Now, if a US SOLDIER needed a weapon, I'd gladly loan him an AR-15 or a pistol or whatever he needed. But, an unarmed civilian? No way. He should have already have his own stuff. If not, too bad.

No I was specifically talking about semiauto rifles. Cause you know they ain't gonna be using their old definition of "assault weapons" 94-2004. First step. Next step Mr. Fudd's gonna be in for a rude surprise. Next step will be pistols. The Democrats don't have to worry anymore about media, communication or being voted out. They know how to vote cheat on a mass scale now. They'll simply apply that knowledge to down ballots next time too. And well with 30 million new unillegal aliens and two new states they probably won't even have to cheat, if the SCOTUS speaks up, guess what the 5-4 majority is now 15-5 majority flipped over.

Ah I guess I should have weighed in on that then
Yeah I think they have a good chance of getting this one through
It worked on full auto's nearly 100 yrs ago
40 yrs later the gun control act and now 40 yrs after that here we are
Anti's and fudds will see it as sensible which will help it get put into law
Others probably had getting one on their "to do list" but were busy with their lives figuring they'll be there when they get around to it
I can't say "f**k them" since I don't have any to spare and was once guilty of the same attitude
I've been refering to those that have larger collections which I also was at one time to some extent
As well as the cool facter they kept going up in value
If the NFA idea gets through that will put them in the same playing field as FA's as far as a commodity per se'
It may be time to cash out since the market will shrink do to regs that most don't want to deal with plus it's a sellers market
If you do want to deal with the regs it will cost huge depending on the size of the collection
Then there's the registration, tracking and transfers just like the machine guns
Now if one decides not to comply look at the cost which must be factored in not only to the owner but to their family if caught
There goes all those weapons that could still be out there if one had sold
I'm not caving or suggesting anybody else cave but concidering what is going on it's time to really take stock of one's vulnerability
Another consideration is to get a fudd gun in the same caliber of any AW's one might have
I'm thinking they will be keeping track of the ammo real close in the not to distant future if this gets though

So cooler heads need to speak up. First, let us see what happens in DC on inauguration day. If it goes peacefully then the next thing is drowning our so-called representatives in 2nd amendment emails, phone calls, and snail mail, letting them know that they work for us, not Nancy, Chuckie or Joe. On the other hand if the 20,000 military troops in DC open fire on the public, all bets are off.
As for our vulnerability, we are all open to federal and state attack if our governors (our employees) forget that they work for us, and continue the road to they tell us everything. Worrying about our family if we stand up to oppression when the fact is if anyone capitulates, look what happened in Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia and Mao's China. Whole families were taken out and turned off even if only one member of the family had the wrong color hair.
I don't believe it will come down to it, but I have been wrong in the past, and I pray that smarter people prevail and the country of the people, by the people, and for the people does not perish from the earth in the next couple of years.
While I share your optimism, based on my studies of history, current (and what I have discerned regarding behind the scenes) events, I believe said optimism to be displaced.
History is cyclical, all empires crumble and ours has been doing so since immigration standards were dissolved, abandoned or diminished nigh on 60 years ago, and more for Europe. The west has been committing slow suicide for decades now, just as Greece once did, just as Rome once did, and every other empire throughout history.
People have suggested that as the information capabilities and delivery methods improve, time speeds up...and so it does though we do not perceive it that way. What took 700 years, 2000 years ago to end, will happen in less than 400 years today.
Time and the ages change...the nature of humanity remains static...which is why we fail to usher in an enlightened future.

I believe Einstein addressed this nigh on 100 years ago...twice in fact. Something about trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result...and then there was that encompassing statement of his surety that there were two things that were infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and he wasn't so sure about the the universe.
The prosecution rests its case your honor.

Agreed !!
For over 40 years, I have been collecting and enjoying certain firearms. It is my hope to leave them to a relative but they are currently still a teenager. This relative also doesn't have access to hunting at this time and is in a single parent household with a couple of younger siblings. If this relative were closer, I would take them out for some practice shooting of various guns or a little squirrel hunting but they live over 200 miles away.
Oh well.
“I have little patience with people who take the Bill of Rights for granted. The Bill of Rights, contained in the first ten amendments to the Constitution, is every American’s guarantee of freedom.” - - President Harry S. Truman, “Years of Trial and Hope”
That's exactly the way I'm thinking. The cost and time to me is going to be a killer even if they somehow made the NFA process workable in scope. I might as well cash in a large portion while they are readily saleable and at unreal and I mean unreal valuations. I built an AMD 63 and a couple AMD65's kits and built them among other AK's, RPK,M1919 PSL ect ect...... back before the ban expired then made the bayolug ect. usuable again on the 63 after 2004. I looked at gun broker and just a friggin AMD63 kit is going for over 2K!!!!!!!! No reciever, not built. I promised a second cousin that gun which I'll be sending soon to him as a present before I knew what it was worth. That will be a nice present. The 65's are well beyond what I ever would imagine they were worth when I built them. I'm thinking of liquidating 3/4 of my not small collection and buying silver, gold and platinum to replace the investment and still have more than I can shoot if necessary. I don't fancy having to NFA all the mags and guns and I don't fancy watching my collection lose it's liquidity through the long process of reselling them legally either while I'm alive or when they get passed on. I already have two NFA items that will be a PITA for my heirs. I don't want to see gov't thugs gun down my dogs, wife or kid in the process when they eventually and will confiscate by force or have the paid for house destroyed in the process. Lot's of hard decisions and soul searching coming for us, gentlemen. This Republic has seen it's peak IMO.
