How to save printer cartridges long term?

I haven't had a printer for many years because I could only possibly use one about 2 -3 times a year, so I work around it.

In the last week I've needed a printer FIVE times, and in one case there was no easy work around.
I'd like to buy a cheap printer but as little as I'd use the cartridges dry out.
Years ago I had a couple of plastic print cartridge humidors that kept them usable for an indeterminate period of time.

Is there something I could do today that would allow me to store opened print cartridges for at least a couple of months?????

I've used plastic baggies for my ink cartridge storage. They work great, even on partially used ones. Just have to use tape to seal off the ink heads to keep them fairly fresh.

p.s. Most printers are fairly inexpensive. It's the ink cartridge costs that are expensive.

Buy a laser printer. Toner lasts for quite a while. Ink jets good luck.

Plus, if the print quality is bad, just pull the cartridge, shake it up, replace and reprint...perfect.

The only issue is if one needs to print in color. Color laser printers are available, but quite expensive...

Same thing with color laser printers. A high capacity set of 4 toner cartridges (5000 prints) for my printer costs around $350!

Of course, this is for factory new cartridges, not refilled ones. Refilled color toner cartridges suck and sometimes they leak toner powder inside the printer. Mega mess! And, their print quality is poor and unlike factory parts, the print quality degrades over time.

The good thing is that color toner doesn't dry out. I can print one sheet after the printer hasn't been used in a year and it comes out perfect.

Sometimes, wiping the ink port of a dried out ink cartridge with a damp paper towel makes it work again.

Look up how easy it is to refill inkjet cartridges, you kill kick yourself in the ass for ever buying a new cartridge in the first place.
