The only outcome that might prevent riots is a finding of murder in the first followed by immediate execution.
My inference from what I've heard/read about so far is acquittal...I'd be highly surprised if even manslaughter was the verdict.

Which is why my wife has a loaded Beretta M9 on her desk (working from home), my daughter has a loaded CZ-75 in her bedroom and there is a loaded AR-15 in the living room closet (front of the house). My younger son who lives upstairs also has an AR-15 ready to go.
I've spoken with several of my neighbors and if the shit comes our way, we plan to do rotating watches to guard our area. Any "peaceful" rioters or looters will be sorry they came to our part of town. BTW, one of the "guard" neighbors is a local cop.
Not much happens here, crime-wise. But, we are prepared just in case.

Well, I cannot understand why people get angry with the cops for cleaning up their neighborhoods. All these "victims" were bad people who brought nothing to the community.
