After today, it's all historical.
The guy in the article must love casting bullets. He's got more money sunk into his lead melting pot than I have in my pot, molds, and lead combined.
Sorry, I went the cheaper route all the way around. I use single or double cavity molds instead of 4-6 cavity molds and my pot is just a regular fishing sinker lead melting pot. I use any pure lead I can buy and when I can't find that, I use lead fishing sinkers (a little more expensive, but usually readily available).
Once the pot gets hot enough to melt the lead, and the mold heats up, even with a single cavity mold, things move along fairly quickly. I can make enough balls to get me through a couple of shooting sessions in less than an hour. Never really saw the need for a 4-6 cavity mold.
Everything is fun about black powder (except maybe the clean-up process, but that's not too bad really).
I'd rather spend the day shooting black powder firearms than modern powder firearms. Cheaper and a whole lot more satisfying.
