    Boy ! I sure could have used this article about 5 years ago when I was looking for a Marlin 1894 in .357.

    Yes, I did.
    The bore looked good, the wood had only minor nicks and dents, the trigger breaks at about 3.5 lbs., and the lever works smoothly.
    I'm still working up reloads and haven't been able to shoot it as much as I would like to yet, but I've been pleased with its performance so far. According to the serial number, it was made in the mid-90s and is a "JM" stamped barrel.
    I would post a picture but the Hobbytent Photo server has been down for the last several days and I haven't been able to find out why.
