    Got in some shootin'

Got a visit from a long time friend yesterday.
By long time we're talking from the first grade till a few years into retirement
He's in the area for some wedding planning his better half is involved with so while the ladies had their hen party...... well you know
He's one of those friends that no matter how much time or distance may go by you can pick up right where you left off from the last time you saw each other
Once we started thinking some trigger time he wound up bringing two of his nephews along one of which is the groom to be
Now he brought some pretty nice toys all of which he actually won in some online raffles in a matter of a few months

Probably the star of the day was this Ruger Precision .338 Lapua

I have to admit I didn't fire it only because I couldn't get good eye relief
I tried and tried but it wasn't happening. I got to try the others though
In addition to some trap we managed to run all of them along with some I brought out
Here's some general pics of the day

    The groom to be

    My very good friend

    The customary Tannerite target

The .454 Casull has a bit of a kick

In cleaning up it was found that apparently it was a very near miss on one of the jars of Tannerite

All in all a good day and nice to actually use some ammo and make some noise around here

Looks like it turned out to be, not a "good day," but a great day.

    Yep you're right
I just got back from the woods taking some apples out to the deer
Thought I'd check for any inside out squirrels or dead deer while I was at it
Now I'm not saying it did and I'm not saying it didn't but it suspiciously looks like that Lapua finished off a dead tree

Man that looks like a good time, i haven't done any dirty desert shooting in awhile. That's nice S&W, is the one that can shoot .460 & 45LC as well as the casull?

I had a .454 in a Ruger super redhawk, it was the most brutal handgun i've fired, i think it was a little light for that caliber, it blistered the web of my hand after 12 rounds even with a glove on.

I know he said it could use the 45lc since I had some to offer up but didn't use
As far as the 460 I believe he mentioned another round but can't recall.
I tried taking notes but things were moving pretty quick
Yeah that was a lot of gun for sure I was actually trying to get a shot of the flash
Close tolerance of the cylinder and barrel still let enough gas through to feel

Some guy sued S&W when his thumb got blown off by the escaping gases from the cylinder/barrel gap on a .460 pistol. Apparently the knuckle head gripped it like a semi-auto and his thumb covered the gap, he claimed S&W didn't warn him about being a dumbass
