Latest from the station on the interstate.

Before somebody says: "they're always more expensive!" there are stations in town with 90 octane at 5.19

Now, the station with the 90 octane non-ethanol fuel only has a .05 price split between it and 93 octane ethanol (had been about .20 difference).
Asked the lady at the counter and she says the only people buying non-ethanol are usually filling gas cans or towing a trailer with mowers and weed eaters.
That makes sense, because it's worth the price difference to prevent damage to carburetors and fuel lines.

Here's what's interesting: They're selling less of a particular fuel and the price increase doesn't keep track with the other grades.

Safe bet the sales of 93 octane are down as compared to 87 / 89 but it's still tracking the same for the last few months.

Shouldn't Ethanol fuel have a higher cost per gallon?
Growing the corn, which has to be turned into alcohol then blended with petroleum based gasoline.
That requires additional testing for quality control of the blend.
Every step added to the process should increases cost of the final product...must be government subsidies in there somewhere (our tax dollars at work)

Maybe it's a point of contention.

Either way, the prices are ridiculous.
