    Another day of shootin'

Son of a gun, twice in one month.
Just under the wire but after a year or more one of the ol' shooter's gave me a call and asked to come by today
His son and grandson were in town and wanted to have some fun.
Setting up the sun was still out and pretty cool but wind was picking up

Then it started getting cloudy which cooled things down some more

Didn't stop us though a new C7 457 17 HMR needed a scope zeroed in

Started out a little low but a few turns and it was pretty much a tack driver

22 lever actions are always a good time

As the day progressed and got pretty chilly

A High Standard from the fifties
Inherited he had just repaired it and needed to test it out

More clouds but no rain so on we went

    Speaking of chilli.
Perfect for the day and was it good

The grandson loved my full auto BB gun

As the afternoon went by the sun started coming out but still cold

Sunny again and got to see the grandson's BB gun.
Pretty nice came from Walmart when they were liquidating them around here a few years ago

Kept going till it was time to go

Another great day and good to see old friends again

    You bastage!!!!

I miss my old pistol club. Well, it was pistol, trap and skeet.

They had, as I recall, six to eight pistol lanes...it was $5 an hour for a lane (regardless of how many shooters) and $25 a year membership. The county forced them to close up and sell when the nearby highway rerouted, promising to help them find a new site, which the county quickly reneged on once the deal was done. Nearest ranges are now 20 to 50 miles away, $25 an hour or more for a lane for one person, more for multiple. The old range was a mile from my house. Oh, and they had 50 cent beers (by the can) for when you were done shooting...

Looks like a great friggin' day! I'm guessing the grandson was in seventh heaven.
If we refuse to rule ourselves with reason, then we shall be ruled by our passions.

He, Who Will Not Reason, Is a Bigot; He, Who Cannot, Is a Fool; and He, Who Dares Not, Is a Slave. -Sir William Drummond

There are some things I will not abide within my sight!

With these two outings I've posted about this past month the subject of the ranges came up
It seems like a breath of freedom for most that come out here
I don't take that for granted.
I'm truly blessed and am glad to share when I can
