    Smoke gets in my eyes

I had cataract surgery on both eyes ( 6 months apart) about 3 years ago. Went to the eye doctor for check-up and he said my original cornea lens had clouded ( gettin hard to focus my scope ) and i needed to have my old lens lasered.

It took about 2 minutes for him to point a laser at my eye and zap me about 30 times cutting a hole in my cornea, my vision has been cleared up but the smell of burning flesh and smoke coming from my eye is a little hard to forget.

....what a drag it is getting old.

I had cataract surgery in both eyes last month....two weeks apart. Now, my vision is 20-25 (good enough to pass the DMV eye test). Not bad coming from 20-400 (glasses gave me 20-20). Feels weird not wearing glasses now. I've worn them since 3rd grade. Can't read shit up close now. Have tp use 2.5X glasses for that now.

So far, haven't needed any laser surgery as my corneas are pretty clear....

p.s. I'll take getting old over the alternative.....

Glad you made out ok with the laser procedure.

You can have one eye lasered for close up. Me I can't till I retire, I would fail DOT exams. I can't see shit close but might do it then.

Glad it turned out okay. My Gpop had cataract surgery the old fashioned way and soon lost his sight completely. Must have really sucked for him, He was always doodling with electronics and things, soon got dementia and went to heaven after losing his sight.

I'm teaching myself how to engrave the wood stocks and do wire inlays on the flintlock pistol i'm building, need my eyes for a few more years.

I'm fortunate that modern orthopedic surgery has advanced so much, i just had a knee and hip replaced in the last 2 years, my grandfather suffered with arthritic hips until it crippled him and confined him to a wheel chair, he passed soon after that as well.
