Some nice oldies there! Way back when they were new nobody would dream that one day they could be stars at a show!

    I LOVE CAR SHOWS!

There's been one going on every saturday night for the last 15 years in scottsdale at a place called the Pavilions shopping center. The Barret/Jackson car auction is held 5 miles north, and when the show is going on everyone brings out the most exotic cars and bikes i've ever seen. When it's busy in the cooler months i've seen over 500 cars exhibited plus all the cool cars that the spectators bring out.
There is a mcdonalds that it centers around and they blast LOUD rock&roll til 10 pm, it is a fun time, especially the races on the 101 freeway after the show, i think it was a ZL-1 vette that set the radar camera speed record at 201 MPH

The Tri-5 (55,56,57) chevys are still my favorite. I had 2 57 station wagons 45 yrs ago, one was a bone stock 4 door with a 283 and a power glide, the other was a lowered (not LOW rider) with a 4 speed, 12 bolt posi rear end and a tired 350 horse 327 out of a 65 vette. I posted a photo of it 10-15 years ago with my hang glider strapped to the top.
I sold the stock one to buy an immaculate nomad body and chassis and then life* got in the way and i had to sell both

    * i crashed my hang glider and broke my leg and several other bones

Your post inspired me to go to the scottsdale show with my 14 tr old grand daughter last night (she was 3 when we started going), i haven't been there in 3-4 yrs., not much has changed. A younger crowd shows up this time of year and after sundown it gets a little rowdy for my taste.

and it's in an asphalt parking lot instead of nice cool grass, this is the time of year when the temps don't go much below 90 degrees at night and my tolerance for that is waning, we only stayed for 45 min.

yep i learned that the hard way, wasn't the sudden 600ft drop in altitude, but that sudden stop at the end that got my attention. it wasn't a terminal velocity drop, just like a leaf slowly falling out of control

Man what a great bunch of cars. I do love a good car show. I'm glad there are so many great old American cars still around.

Oh baby those are nice! Love me a car show. Never had anything worthy to show off, but have always enjoyed a walk past some ossum cars. Someone I know has a 1200hp mustang with a turbo bigger than my head, a mint Mercury Montego starsky model, a late 90s cobra stang project car, and etc, it's kinda like a car show whenever I go over there lol.
