One of my bucket list guns was a Savage 99 in .308 caliber. I hunted for years and never found one. I told a gun dealer friend of mine what I was looking for and about 2 years later, he called and said a friend of his had that exact rifle for sale and did I still want one. I said yes and $600 later, it was mine. It was in almost mint condition. It's a safe queen now.
