Maybe it's going to be a 'silent night'...

But it will definitely be a noisy morning out here tomorrow!

We're giving the boys Glock 19s for Christmas.

    Edit:
    1) Need to preview the pics before posting.
    2) Really need to get a cell phone with a better camera!

Went into town for lunch after church this morning, decided to stop by Academy and take a look around.
Ammo section has really thinned out in the last few weeks.

Would get here more often - but I've been busy!
Ye olde Massey was leaking between the trans output and differential, that hydraulic oil is expensive too.
Had to split the case and replaced the gasket...

    Since I'm mechanically inclined
(which is a nice way of saying an 'Idiot with OCD')
I decided it was time for some upgrades.

Guy that runs our local Ag supply was so impressed,
that he gave me a free hat and a pair of overalls...

Five times over six years the photographer tried and found bad weather. Finally, just ten days ago, the weather was perfect, and a photographic dream was realized. Taken in Piemonte, Italy, the cathedral in the foreground is the Basilica of Superga, the mountain in the middle is Monviso, and, well, you know which moon is in the background. Here, even though the setting Moon was captured in a crescent phase, the exposure was long enough for doubly reflected Earthlight, called the da Vinci glow, to illuminate the entire top of the Moon.

Yes sir! Sounds like you've been there / done that

Found out the fluid level was low when trying to switch from the brush hog to the box blade (needed to grade our road).
Bolts at the bottom of the case also hold on the pivot tube for the left rear brake linkage. Once they rattled loose? It started DUMPING fluid.

Scraped what little bit of sludge there was in the bottom of the case into a plastic drain pan then checked with a magnet - just dirt and no metal to speak of.
Washed it out with brake cleaner, greased up the splined sleeve for the PTO then (finally) got it stabbed back together and bolted up.
Ran several hours, parked on the concrete floor and it didn't loose one drop of hydraulic oil the next morning....
Now I just need to wash it off and figure out where the engine oil leak is coming from!

Now THAT is a sweet pistol!

I can only take 1/2 the credit, Julie is an outstanding Mom and keeps all three of us in line.
Liberals would have a seizure about giving Glock pistols to a 13 and 10 year old, but they've been raised around firearms and have proven themselves to be safe and responsible.

They were already sharing an EAA Bounty Hunter. It's a .22LR single action revolver that looks like an old west colt.
They've also had plenty of good times with a magazine fed bolt action .22 Marlin that was Julie's first rifle.
She got it for Christmas when she was 6 years old, her Dad had shortened the stock so it was the perfect length for their first rifle.

That is great to hear....your children are lucky to have parents like you and the missus.

I just wish there were more parents like that...the world would be a better place.....by the way I am available for adoption.

God bless you and your family and have a Happy New Year!
