IL-ANNOY bans the Ruger 10/22 and more

This is from Illinois Carry and you might find this interesting. This is about this case: Barnett v. Raoul (3:23-cv-00209) (S.D. Ill. 2023) - NSSF Gun/Mag Ban
Todd Vandermyde, formerly an NRA lobbyist has a video (~15 minutes) that is almost hilarious if it weren't so sickening. The video can be found on Youtube at

    .

This link takes you to Page 6 on their Judicial forum where some of the comments are enlightening. Todd's video is also on that page about 3/4 of the way down the page.

All kinds of worlds of shit are coming down here in MN too..... CRAPS control both houses and the gov is a jackoff crap too. They're just ramming through everything they want as fast as possible. We have a 17 BILLION surplus, they have that spent already and are raising taxes on top of spending that record surplus. They MIGHT give us tax payers a little tiny bit of the crumbs left.

    WTF??? The 10/22?

What's next? Ban soda straws because they can be used to fire spitballs? Um, I mean ASSAULT spitballs.

Unfortunately, it isn't just SA rifles they seem to be banning. If a PUMP shotgun can take a magazine extension, it is to be banned. Think of SA shotguns like the Remington 1187, 1100, Benelli Super Black Eagle, Beretta 391 series, etc. And don't forget the "mini-shells".

Wow. This is great. Now Chicago will be a peaceful and safe city in which people can walk the streets without fear of violence.

Even with NO magazine extension, your shotgun may be "illegal" if it has those mini-shells in it.

Dammit. You're giving them more ideas....

(Paper straws are grandfathered in. They're only going after the plastic ones that will make humans go extinct. Also, you'll put your eye out with the plastic ones.)

Funny, here in gun-loving Indiana the state ran a budget surplus which by state constitution is illegal, so every tax payer was mailed a $350 check. That was nice until I got my property tax theft bill which went up $500!!! Gotta love a government no longer of the people, by the people and for the people that became a government of politicians, by politicians and for special interest groups and politicians.

But at least I can own any firearm that the federal government allows! (See the NFA and the machinegun ban, and the import ban, and the ....)

Only $500?? Count your blessings. Where I am in southwestern IL-ANNOY, on approximately 1/4-1/3 acre with a 1300 SF house and a 30 x 50 pole barn, last year's property taxes were over $1,350 !!

Is that, property taxes went up by over $1350, or total property taxes at $1350.

I gotta infer you meant they went up that much, because here in 'scansin on a smaller lot with about the same size house and no barn I'm paying over five grand a year for government rental.

That was my actual tax bill, about $1370. The "rates" went up again this year as did the "township multiplier" BUT I have the senior freeze and senior homestead exemption which helps slightly.

My property tax rent went up by $500. It is now more than 2 months of my social security checks. Then add property insurance, auto insurance and auto license plate fees, all of which are mandatory and I am lucky they allow me anything.

But back to the topic, at least my state of Indiana next to the communist state of Chicagoland allows me the right to keep and bear arms, to protect me, my property and the security of a freely taxed state.

That tax bill is just over 123% of my SS "allotment". License plates are $158, combine insurance (auto/home) runs ~$150/mth. (State Farm). It HAD been almost $200 but when I got the annual renewal recently, the reason it was high was they had the "value" of my house at about 40% over the tax bills assessment. That change is lowering my bill by about $45/mth.
