    Don't Overlook Dandelions

Dandelions, yes, the weed, is a great all-around plant. It can be used for food, vitamins, teas, coffee substitute, and many ailments. Being a "natural" medicine, it has very few side effects.

I'm in the process of spreading them around my yard (the back and sides, but they're already in the front yard). Most people look at them as nothing more than weeds, but I'm starting to use them as often as I can.

Since the government is starting to frown on personal food growing, this will slip right past their watchful (spying) eyes. It's a "weed," after all.

I've already used the leaves, mixed with some lettuce, in my salads and will start digging up some roots and using them. One of the really good things about dandelions is they grow super fast.

There are a lot a books written about dandelions and here are a few websites that talk about them:

While I haven't read your links, hopefully, one or more of them advise the reader to be sure they wash all of that white sap out before eating the plant.
