    An interesting story.
While mine isn't a "coach gun", I have a Stevens 311 SxS with double triggers. It's about 60 years old that I've owned for about 30. It originally had fixed chokes but I took it to the gunsmith a couple of blocks from the store where I bought it and got him to bore it out for screw-in chokes.
I have used it for both hunting and home defense as I can fire both barrels at the same time. The "skeet 1" choke has a 3" #4 Buck (40 pellets) in the left barrel and a 3" OO Buck (15 pellets) with an "improved cyl." choke in the right barrel.
I wonder what could withstand a cloud of 55 pellets.
