After today, it's all historical.
We butchered two steers last week. The first one I shot square in the brain with Underwood 9mm XTreme Defender. The steer buckled, then got back up and needed three more shots to go down. The second steer was shot square in the brain with a 30-30...it dropped like a sack of potatoes...then after a few seconds, got back up totally pissed and started after us. It took one more 30-30 to the head and it dropped dead. My lesson, at all costs avoid having to shoot a large animal while expecting Johnny Rambo results because a 1000lb Grizzly is going to be a heck of a lot more pissed than a fat Angus.
