We're replacing a perfectly good coal plant in Monticello, MN. that provides constant energy and a wealth of jobs from the operators, to the trains, to the miners with a solar farm that delivers much less and certainly not on a consistent basis! There was a solar farm in the western Midwest that has been put out of commission within the last couple of weeks due to a large hailstorm. Now the people are getting worried about the toxic chemicals that are used to make those panels leaching into the ground water.
And they are low on power due to the damage.

There's a good movie called the colony based on the premise that tampering with the weather caused a global catastrophe with only small colonies underground left alive. After a couple years battling wind turbines a few years ago they are slowing trying to nose their way back into the county here.
Getting a few very large solar farms springing up around here and surrounding counties now comes carbon capture
Last year they started the seismic surveys and within a few weeks I had a land agent from NJ representing BP trying to lease 70 acres from my sister and me
As it turns out there are actually three from Fl three from Mi and one from Oh trying to get in here as well
