Just Ordered an M5A1 Bayonet For My Garand!

I am pretty excited. I mentioned to my wife that they were selling bayonets for Garands at CMP and she told me that I should order one. My Garand was made after the Korean war as were these bayonets, so it should make my Garand period correct. Not a big deal, really, but I am still excited about it. The one I ordered has never been issued, so it should come in the original wrapping. This is going to be pretty cool. Here is a picture of what I ordered.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

That model does not effect accuracy like the m1 as it doesn't hang off the muzzle. It attaches to the bayo lug and a round stud goes in the gas plug. The M1 bayo really screws up the accuracy. The Mk5A1 doesn't seem to bother accuracy at all.

Yeah thanks I didn't know that either. I didn't even know them made one that mounted on the gas plug. That is pretty interisting. I guess it doesn't look like the one for my M1A as much as I thought.
